We've all had experiences where we think we see something out of the corner of our eyes, and although most of the time we brush them off, a few of us go looking for answers. Today's story is a terrifying account of someone who did. My name is Edwin, and here is ages true scary story. I must have been around ten years old. I was really young. I've always had a big imagination. At that age, I was going through the whole closet monster before we go to bed at night, check your closet door, check them you out that imagination stuff. This is out in cal It was me and my brother shared a room. We had bunk beds, and my older brother had the top bunk and I had the bottom bunk. I don't know what it was, but I just woke about the blue. When I think about it, it even felt like how it is when somebody's looking at you. You know, you can just tell somebody is looking at you. I felt that way. I can remember that feeling because it's a feeling I felt several times before. But anyways, I woke up and the closet door was wide open. I made sure that thing was shut, make sure there was no way and I told people what happened. Low, it's the wind. I was like, the windows were closed, though, how what wind? I look over and in the closet is what I thought at first was my dad. My Dad's been known to come in my room late at nights to check up on me, just to make sure we're okay. He what is it? He whatever it was looked at like noticed I was looking at it or whatever it was, and its eyes glue bright red. So naturally, what I did is I just took the covers and just went right to sleep. I was like, I, no, I can't see this. I woke up the next morning and I was still underneath the cover, so it was not a dream. And long behold, the closet door was wide open. I still, I've never dealt with anything like this before. And I'm still I'm somebody who wants I don't want to just straight say, oh, go spirit, let's look into this. And I'm pretty smart ten year old. Anyways, I once my dad. My dad wore glasses, and I was thinking, hey, maybe like a light post or a light reflected off his glasses that would have caused his eyes to be red like that. He said, no, I would have not checked up on you like that because I would have scared Jesus out of you. As part of me still just brushed out. But then I found out a couple years later my brother saw something like that too, And what really set me off guard was he didn't like talking about it. He didn't want to say what he saw. That's what really got me nervous. This is my older brother. He was in the Marine Corps for eight years, tough guy, but he to this day will not talk about what he's seen. Still at that house, there were times where out the corner of my eye, I would feel like I would always see it looks like a figure like darting its head around the corner looking at me, and it had kind of like the same face like from what I saw from it. Again, I could see how I was confusing it with my dad because they had stambular facial structures, had a mustache saying now, I want to say, pretty close to what my dad was. I remember one day I was home by myself. I saw it, whatever was, and I was told by the neighbor's kids if I see anything that, if I need anything, give them a call. I saw that and my brother came running down because I was sick from school and he was off playing. He checked the house and he couldn't find anything. I was in my parents' room. They had a TV in there. It was back in the day when, of course cable was hooked up before the internet, and I remember I was watching TV. I guess out of the corner, like the bedroom door was behind me. Out of the corner in my eye, I saw it was like it was peeking around the corner, like peeking around the corner and looking at me, and the moment I turned my head, poof, it's gone. Fully, I didn't see the full figure because it was just peeking around, so I did get to see, but it was definitely towards the top of the doorframe. About six years later, my brother, like I said, was in the Marine Corps. We were originally from California, and when my parents split up, my mom went to go move us, me, my sister and her to North Carolina where who was stationed at so we could be closer to him, so we can because obviously she was having to split pretty bad. Anyways, we ended up getting this trailer really bad neighborhood, like you could hear the gunshots going off at and this is in Jacksonville, North Carolina. One night, my mom was at work, she was working at the Windy's down the road, and her boyfriend's little brother. It was only a couple of years younger than he. Maybe I was sixteen. He had to be in like thirteen or fourteen. So we were spilit live they close in age. I was telling my first story to him. We were talking about I forgot. I can't remember how we got on that subject. He gets up and he goes, I'm gonna get a glass of water, and I'm not thinking anything about it, and he comes back into and mind you, at this time, it is just me and him at the house. Everybody is nobody there. My sister moved out, Mom and her boyfriend and birlf at work, so it's just me and him. He goes to get the glass of water and he comes back and he's like, hey, did we turn this light on? At first, I'm thinking what light we when we turned on this one light for living, like the little switch. I go out there and there's this red party siren light like almost like a cop siren that was plugged into like the ceiling and it was turned on. We had no reason mess none of us mess up that night. We go around, we check the trailer, couldn't find anything. We go back to the room. He finishes this glass of water and he goes up to get the sink and I'm go to the sink and I'm like, I'm gonna follow you because you know, I'm thinking, man, you're messing with me, aren't you. This is a prank by another lights like a lamp light when there was the lamps you plug in, was plugged in and turn on, which we did even mess with. Again, go around, we check the place out, couldn't see anything. He grabs the baseball back. We go back to the room. Right outside my bedroom door was like where like a water heater used to be there. Towards We had a cat that lived with us too. Towards the top of the door. You curd like scratching sound and the things with cats. It's not a cat is not gonna just be hanging there scratching the way cat's gonna be at towards the bottom. My friend at the time, he's like, I'm gonna open the door. I'm saying, no, whatever outside that door, it's not on here, you keep that door closed. The cat ran into the room underneath the bed as if something was chasing it. That's what really started to set me off, because cats apparently can sense these things more. They have more of a sixth sense apparently towards this stuff, and they could see stuff. And the way that cat was running like something was after it, that really didn't sit right with me. So my friend grabs the baseball bat and he walks to the liverm My mom had these French double doors that would connect to the living room and it would never close all the way because it was missing, like the middle wooden part that would connect doors together to close them. Anyways, he comes back in and he was let the room and he was like, dude, we need to leave now. I'm like, why, what's going on when you leave? And he was like, dude, I just saw the top half of a figure in between your mom's double doors, and I'm thinking, okay, let's sleep. What I did next is something you do not do in any of these situations whatsoever. I lend a hard way on this, but you grabbed the baseball bat. I stood in the middle of the livery room where everything was happening. I was like where And I started cussing and yelling at him, and I was like, whatever comes in this was in here, best be gone by the time it comes back. Or just talking to him or whatever it was, acting all tough and brave. We quickly leave. We start going towards Wendy's, where my mom and her boyfriend were working, and they were just you could chill at waffle house, and we're just right next door. We go to waffle house and we see two of my friends there and we're like, we tell them what's tappen. They're like, I, you know, kind of brush us off. Will they give us a ride back to the trailer. I go inside and in the kitchen, all the cupboards, all the drawers were open. And what really set me off is how neat they were. It wasn't like somebody was like, if somebody were to break in a rubber is not going to be worried about neatness. They're not going to be worried about make sure it's neat let's grit. No, just the way everything was, just the drawers all lined up perfectly. It gives me chills just thinking about it to this day. We closed everything up, and we go to sit on the k I sit in the liver room, thinking if we chill in here where all the bad stuff was happening, maybe whatever it is might just go, might not bother us. So we started playing some video games. I see something move out of the corner of my eye my mom's room. I go, turn the lights, go in there, look around. Couldn't anything, okay, So I go back and I see it come again through the doubled wrea. Like I said when it closed, I saw something move just walking by. So I'm thinking, you know what, I checked the lights off. Me on, let's see what I see the lights off. So I go in there and my mom's closet is wide open, and I see these two bright yellow eyes just looking at me and I both to the livery. I'm like, dude, we gotta leave now, we gotta go. We cannot stay here anymore. So we'd have went up to the Windys where my mom was at, and once my mom and my boyfriend came back that night, everything was cool. We were there until like they closed or just three in the morning. All this happened around probably around nine pm to midnight is when stuff got started, and then we went up there around one or midnight to one and then yeah, book at this entity be the rest of AJS stories coming up right after this. A couple weeks later, we lost power, fell behind on the utility bills. It was still in the mill. The daytime. I was at a Zipple lighter and I was playing my game boy by the sip light. It was still dark in that trailer, even though it was daytime. That Zipple lighter blew out like something. The thing about ziple lighters, Zipple lighters don't do that. Zipple lighters even takes a lot of wind to do that. So I'm go to the window outside using like the sunlight, you know, so I can see my game boy. I look over to my right out the window and there's like another trailer right next to us, and I see like towards the back of the trailer a black shape walk past and this thing it was about gosh, this thing was tall, seven about setting least seven feet it walked past. And the thing about the what it was, it doesn't it didn't have a face, didn't have a headaches a figure. But if I would describe anything, it felt it looked like it it definitely looked like it was looking right at me and its head was focused on me. It almost like it was walking and as it was walking, like turned to the side, just focused and I we we moved about. Not too long after. I told my mom about it. When that happened, she passed it off and she don't she says she believes me, but at the same time, I don't think so. It's just where she responds with it. I think what could have been is whatever I could have saw at my first incident. Because I was talking about that incident and then all of a sudden, that's where stuff started going hangwired. Part of me made me feel like, did I invoke it? Did I maybe talk about it? That's what it was. I That's what I've always wondered about that too. All I know was I don't think that thing was good, or if it was, I don't think it. I don't think it wanted to hurt me. I think it was more definitely a scare, get out of here type of deal. Whatever that was, I learned I can pick up on things now ever since that incident. It's weird you can. It's like I mentioned before, when I felt like that staring presence when you're like, get it's definitely weird. I remember we had a talk on the way from on the way obviously walking to Wendy's. The first time he described it as he just said, the guy was like skinny. All I saw was the bright eyes in the closet. I didn't get to see the full opparition. That's all I saw. That was enough for me to see. But he said it was like a top figure. He only saw the top figure of the man. He didn't make out like the body or anything, just the top figure. Skinny. Definitely we're overcoat of anything. That's what he described. I'm thirty six now. This happened twenty years ago, and it's one of those experiences that I'm not gonna forget. It's something that it stays with you. Not last experience, but the big major one I remember. And this was at least man, I want to say, about twelve years ago, so was not that long ago. I lived in Georgia now, and this happened at the apartment complex I was living out with some friends. I remember I fell asleep TV on I usually don't, and all I remember is I had this really crazy dream about this this girl that walked out of my closets and the closet door was closed this time. Of course, Beatty hoots. She didn't have any eyes whatsoever, like in her mouth was just like a gaping hole. She hid onder my bed, but her top half was laying out. So when the dream, of course, I look over and I see her and I get scared, scared of f it woke me up. When it woke me up, I could not move whatsoever. Like I was awake, I could look, I could look around the moon room. It seemed like really foggy and like dense, and I could Like I said, I couldn't move whatsoever. It like after maybe gosh, it feels like a couple of minutes, but it had been only seconds. I finally came out to it and I turned on the TV went back to sleep. But yeah, that kind of stuck with me too. Ever, since that time, I've remembered how I felt, and I'm like I said, I haven't dealt with anything major. But at the same time, I can definitely feel like something is just not here with us. Like I said, I haven't had dealt to anything really stands out in my mind compared to what I've already told you on that. I remember years later my dad had to talk about what I saw that night. That's when my dad sat down and he told me that he himself saw a shadow figure as well when he was a kid. That to me honestly said, maybe this is something that's passed down in family and father and son. All he told me with his is that he is dead. What is it? Him? My aunt, uncle, and my other aunt. We're all playing in the living room, and this black figure walk out from the kitchen and like a black like where I described to you earlier, but it walked up the like past them and up the stairs, and like how it happened to me, he described it the same way that it was looking at them the whole time. As I was walking up the stairs, got to the landing and went upstairs. My dad like how my brother was. When I mentioned what I saw, he would mention it to my aunt and she would just quickly change the subject, like she did not want to talk about that. I brought it up like when I was older about because I told my dad about what happened that night and with him and what I thought was him, and my dad used to watch all these supernatural stuff too and all that, and he actually told me, he was like, I believe what you saw. I believe you what you used. And that means the world where you say something like this and it's not everybody's gonna believe you when you go up through stuff. I don't expect there's always gonna be people like whatever. But to have that one person and being your dad be like, no, I don't think you're crazy. I think you did see something that night, and that it's relieving. My brother refuses to talk about I want to. I had part of me. I don't want to force it out of my brother. But at the same time, I'm kind of like, yo, what'd you see because you've been telling you've mentioned it, but that's yeah. I don't want to force it out of It's one of those things you do not believe until you've fully gone through it. It's something that's it. You will not forget about it once you go through it. I'm twenty years later, I still remember it like it was two weeks ago. Share your own story by going to true scarystory dot com and letting us know what it's about.
