This episode contains brief graphic mention of self harm and not suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised. Kelly was visiting a historic town when she had a sudden sense that something in the place where she was staying may have been trying to communicate a message in the most bizarre way. My name is Edwin, and here is kelly true scary story. This happened about a year ago, September of twenty twenty one in red Wing, Minnesota. Every year, my boyfriend and I get his niece and nephew. Usually like we split a week so we get the first one in the second one, and it was his niece's weekend, and we were actually going to go up there to make it a little easier on a sister, so we stayed in red Wing, which is a nice halfway point between her house and the Mall of America, which we were going to go take his niece to and do stuff for the day. So red Wing, Minnesota is a beautiful town on the Mississippi River. Old buildings, you can tell that there's a lot of history there. And we stayed in the roadway in because my boyfriend got a good deal on it. He had stayed there previously, so he said it was fine. We ended up staying there, and the first day we got there, it was just a regular looking like roadway in that you would expect everything was outdated in terms of the furniture and decorations and stuff, but I didn't really get an eerie feeling from it. We went to drop our stuff off, and then we left for the day and went to do our thing. We came back that night and his niece made a little bed on the floor. We slept in the bed. I kept waking up throughout the night every now and then and listened to the ac and the ac just it was making this like weird brattle noise. It was dark. I was just trying to sleep, and it's always hard for me to sleep in a new place. So I was just laying there, and I always get in my head when I'm trying to sleep in a new place, like I just felt like something might have been in there with me, but I was just trying to push it up. But once I fell asleep, that's when things got weird because I had the craziest dream that I've ever had in my life. And my boyfriend also had one too. Those definitely weren't dreams that we were used to because we're just not that type of people to watch those movies and that kind of thing. The dream that my boyfriend had, he had a dream that he beat me to the brink of death, basically like it was just a very disgusting, horrible dream where he just beat me bloody. He didn't really give me much description about it. He just said it was really horrible that he beat me and it was bloody and violent. My dream, I had a dream that I was trying to unlife myself, if you will. It was just the saddest, most horrible feelings that I could ever possibly imagine, and I've never felt that in my life, so to have these feelings in my dream was crazy. It was just absolute dread, sadness, hopelessness. And I was also in my dream just cutting my wrists, just disgusting, gory meat hanging off my arms, blood and nastiness, and I don't usually dream like that, So it was just really different that we had these dreams at this at the same time. So when I woke up, I just didn't want to be in that hotel room anymore. I tried to rush everybody. Hey, let's go, let's go do our stuff for the day. I just didn't want to be there. I just didn't have a good feeling. I just wanted to leave for the day. We went to the Well of America with his knees. We spent the day doing our thing. Eventually we dropped her off with her mom and we did our own thing. We went to Treasure Island, we went out to eat, and when we were out eating, we were just discussing what we were going to do, if we were going to stay another night, if we were going to go home, And we did have another night at the Roadway, so I mean, it didn't really matter if we were left or not. We had that night. So we decided that we were just going to decide fully when we got back to the hotel room. So after we got done eating, we went back and went upstairs, and then when we opened the door to the hotel room, that's when everything felt different. The air felt way different than it was when we left. It was thick, it was heavy, it just didn't feel like it did when we left. We were just discussing, Hey, are we gonna leave or not? And my boyfriend kept saying, I have a really bad feeling. Something doesn't feel right, and I'm like, okay about us driving home? What is it? And I don't think he could really clear his finger on what he was feeling. He just kept saying, I have a really bad feeling. We just decided we're going to smoke watching TV and then probably had out. So he said turn the light off and I said no. And when he said turn the light off, I just felt those feelings that I felt in the dream all over again, except there was this anger there. There was this feeling that something did not want us in that room anymore. So I was like, no, I'm not going to do that. I'm not going to turn the light off, and he's like why, I'm like, I just want to go, and I just started crying. I got really emotional and I was like, I just want to go. And he's typically he's the person that's going to say no, hold on, we'll leave in a little bit, and at that moment he didn't. He's like, no, we're going to go. So we threw all our stuff in our bag and booked it out of there, and I was way ahead of him. I was fast walking down the hallway and he was right behind me, probably about fifteen twenty feet or so, and I look back to see how far he was from me, and when I look back, he looked back, and I was like, what is he looking at. We got in the car, threw our stuff in the back and just got out of there. And as we were driving it out of the parking lot, him and I didn't say a word to each other. I think eventually I said something like, so that was crazy. He's like, we're not talking about it. I was like, okay, all right. We stopped at the Quick Trip there and got some gas, and I ended up calling my bestie because I wanted to just talk to somebody about it, and she'd be like, hey, so this crazy thing happened. Am I insane? Or what's going on? And after I got off the phone with her and told her about it, we took off at a quick Trip and got on the road, and a couple of minutes within being on the road, we felt something in the back seat with us. The same feelings that we had in the hotel room were with us in the back seat in the car, and I was just frozen in fear, like every muscle in My body was tense. I had these bumps from the inside out, hair standing up on the back of my neck. I heardn't talk. I was terrified. And I could tell that my boyfriend felt the same way, like something was there with us, because he kept looking in the back seat, like out of the corner of his eye. Eventually he turned the light on in the car and looked back there. There's nothing there but him and I just kept side eyeing each other like, oh, this is not okay. This happened for about thirty five forty minutes in the car. We felt like this, like something was there, and at the same exact time, we felt this go away. And once we felt it go away, I completely relaxed. It was like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders. That's when we started talking about what happened. We both agreed that something in that room did not want us there. We both think that having the same kind of disgusting, horrible dreams was not just a coincidence, if you will, the feelings in the room, Like I said, something didn't want us there, and it followed us to the car. He said that he felt something following him when we were leaving and that's why he kept turning around and looking. Once we got home a couple days later, when after we relaxed about it, we did some research on the place, like we looked on everything possible, reviews on the place, and we try to look up news articles, history of the city of the building. We know that there's a haunted hotel. I think it's called the Saint James or something. It's a few blocks away from this place. History could be also at the grounds that we were. You never know what happened. It might not necessarily be the building, it might be the ground something anything could have happened. And in fact, while looking up information about the roadway in I found nothing about any other ghost encounters. In a brief conversation with Kelly, she mentioned that it took place in the second floor around room two fifteen or sixteen, so if you have information, let me know. However, she does mention the Saint James Hotel, which happens to be one of the most haunted in the United States, and yes, it's only a few blocks away. That hotel was built in eighteen seventy five, but the ghost stories apparently started in eighteen ninety when he became a temporary more for boat accident victims, some that are still around. In fact, when they were building it, it discovered human bones and now that hotel and I'm assuming the buildings in the area are said to be on top of Native American burial grounds? Could that be the cause? Telly's story continues right after this stay with us. Him and I both agree that something happened to a young woman. I don't know exactly why. He doesn't know exactly what, but something happened to a young woman. And I feel like she was coming through in our dreams to kind of show us how she was feeling in her last moments, or a memory or something. I don't know. If she was a victim of domestic violin, if she unlived herself, I don't know. But it was crazy. I couldn't find anything on it. I couldn't find any reviews that people had other than it's an eerie place, which I definitely agree. I did debate on asking like calling the people at the front desk or just the staff and be like, hey, do you have any hauntings here or something like that, because I just couldn't make sense of it in my head, Like I felt like I was crazy, but my boyfriend felt it too, so I obviously couldn't have been crazy. I think that there's more out there that we can't see. I definitely believe in the parent normal. I believe that some people are more susceptible to it than other people. It could have been very easily that something happened to this girl, and just maybe it doesn't. Maybe she didn't want a man there, maybe should have had something against my boyfriend. I don't know. I don't know. It was just the craziest experience that I've ever had. Honestly, I was looking or maybe like a murder news article or like some history at the place or the address. We like research the address. I don't know. There was no murders. There was like one person murdered in the town of red Wing in all of history that I could find. I don't know. That was like at least public. I people maybe when they unlive themselves, they're not necessarily going to report that to the news, So maybe it could have been something of that nature. I don't know. I want to know if you know, somebody has any experience not necessarily even there, maybe at other places, if they had the same experience. And that's why I listen to these things. I love hearing about other people's experiences with paranormal You know, a lot of people think when you talk about that stuff that you're crazy, but it's a thing. It happens. Like I've had a little like weird situations, like nothing related to that, but like when I went to Buffalo Bill's grave in Golden Colorado. That was an interesting experience because when we walked up, there was this girl crying, and I was like, what are you crying about? The same? Are you related to Buffalo Bill? Like why are you crying? And once I walked up to the grave, like I was overwhelmed with this incredible amount of sadness and I just could not stop balling my eyes out, like we had a leaf because I couldn't stop crying. And my boyfriend's yeah, I felt something there too, but he wasn't crying obviously, But like this that experience that was our first paranormal experience. I think that's what freaked us out so much, because like you hear about this stuff happening on the TV and podcast on you know, any way possible people be talking about this stuff, and you don't really think it's going to happen to you. Sometimes Oh okay, that's a cool story, But when it happens to you, it's okay. They're not joking. There's a lot more out here than me see eye, like, you can't see what's going on, but there's more, especially in the afterlife. I think I'm so interested in that because what happens when you pass, Like, where does the energy go? If something happened at that hotel, Is that entity or energy attached to the walls as it attached to something in that room, or is it attached to the property. Who knows. I still think about it a lot to this day. It haunts me almost in a way. That was probably the most traumatizing dream I've ever had. There was a reason behind it. I feel like that energy was trying to reach out and talk to me about or show me what happened, show me how they were feeling. I think that's what it was.
