I looked at my mom, and my little brother's right next to my mom. He's like trying to comprehend what's going on. As soon as my brother sees it and he snaps out of it. I looked at my mom and I was like, that just happened. The house was new, the neighborhood was quiet, but after one night with Luigi, board doors began shaking, candles blew out on their own, and the fear didn't stay inside one house. My name is Edwin and here is Chris true scary story. My family had their house built a Cyper Sexus around two thousand and four to two thousand and five, but they all started back in about two thousand and nine. Because my neighbors had just moved in. They were always very outgoing people and very cool people, and my parents found them like very friendly, so we always ended up hanging out together. And they're like a family of three girls. They had two parents and a grandchild. I was always going to school there in Houston and coming back into Cyprus and it was very much of a drive and my parents didn't like it at the time. So when that family member moved in, they had ended up telling my parents that there was a school around the corner that wasn't a public school, but it was a charter school, very different from a public school, and the hours were very different too. My mom decided to give it a shot because I had trouble going to public school over there, and then my mom tried to put me in a Catholic school and it didn't go as planned because I got kicked out of there. As well, so my parents ended up taking me out of. There and putting me in. That charter school. Well, in that charter school, I would get off around one thirty in the afternoon to go home from school because if he finished, and my neighbor, the middle child, she was old enough to babysit me and my at the time, and my brother was going to school at a public school right around the corner, and he would get home maybe by like an hour after I would, that neighbor would babysit us. She was very cool. She was also a metal head, so she liked all the stuff that we liked too. And my mom and my parents, you know, they were very much into the paranormal as well. They liked everything. Everybody in that household liked that ghost fuel and so my neighbor that when that baby sat us, she saw that we were very intrigued into that. And I guess one year her and her friends they, you know, decided to get a weichi board. And mind you, I'm like ten eleven years old at the time and they're like fourteen fifteen years old. You know, I'm trying to figure out, like, okay, where in life am I going to go? These are my crowd of people. So you know, I you know, to intrigue of it as well. I was like, well, let me see what this is all about. Nobody's home and my brother was still at school, and we decided to try the weedy board, right, you know. And her mom at the time was like very against it, didn't like it at all, didn't want no part of it whatsoever. Tried her hardest to not have it at all in her house. But somehow, some way, this girl got it in her house. Then we ended up playing with it. At first, we tried it on the roof in the backyard because they had made an awning in the backyard where we can go climb up. There and you know, go stargazing at night and whatnot. We did all the rules you know, the counterclockwise and whatnot, you know, everything. The whole nine yard tried it. Nothing happened. We all were like, yeah, whatever, whatever, it's nothing, it's not gonna work. My babysitter at the time, I guess something was just very attached to her and this board game because she did not want to give it up. She did not want to let it go. We ended up playing inside in her room, like in the game room, because she was like, oh, I have a game room, let's try it in there. This time, we put out candles, turned off the lights. They had blackout curtains, so it was completely dark in there, and this is during the day. Couldn't see anything. It was completely dark. Set up the game, we did the whole thing and got it open, and all of a sudden, the room just it was not. The same from when we walked in. It was very still and very cold. We kept trying to like talk to each other about it, but we could all tell that, you know, our eyes were just very big and we're like, well, you know, like do you all feel that? And we just kind of shook it off, tried to at least try to shake it off and continue playing the game. You know, they asked their questions on who it was. I forgot the name that came through the board, and I think, for the life of me, it's trying to tell me not to remember the name because of everything that's happened. Afterwards, I will say I remember them trying to talk to it and ask it where it came from and who you know, who it was, and it was ignoring all that, and they asked if it had a favorite person in the group. It kept pointing towards my neighbor, the one that baby sat us. She was sitting right next to me, and I was like, man, this is this is kind of freaking me out, you know, and her other friends are on the other side and they're asking, well, is there somebody you don't like? And it spelled out my name, and instead of spelling out my entire name, it's spelled out just C h R. And I was like, oh my god, everybody knew it was spelling out my name. I was like, no way. And when it finished and it spelled Chris, they all just kind of looked at me. I said, all right, I don't want to play this anymore. And you know, my neighbor was like, you got to tell it goodbye. I was like, well, goodbye. You know, we're not going to play this anymore. It kept sliding to no, no, no, So at the end of that I was feeling, you know, that fear. I was like, this isn't going to go great. And so finally my neighbor goes, all right, that's it, We're not going to play anymore. You know, you gotta tell it goodbye, tell us goodbye, and it finally slid across goodbye, but very aggressively where our It felt like it flew from our fingers and we all just kind of looked at each other, and when we like you know, came out of the room, it went from being daylight to already the middle of the night without us even knowing, and it only felt like five minutes. So that night I decided to spend the night over there, and her friends still wanted to play, and as they were still playing, I laid in my neighbor's bed, you know, in the other room, just to you know, catch some sleep because it was already late and I didn't want to wake anybody up leaving the house because it had the door alarmed, you know, which doors opened up, so as I'm laying in the bed, I hear the door open and and you know, half asleep. I'm like, okay, so somebody's done playing the game too. You know. As I'm laying there, I feel like the indent in the bed and I'm like, somebody's here. And I put my hand in the back of me to kind of feel there's nothing there, but I can feel the indent and I like kind of shook over with my with like you know, the spear in my place. And as I look over, two seconds later, her friend comes through the door and jumps on the bed. She's like, you're awake, You're awake. I was like, n something weird just happened, Like it felt like somebody was laying with me, but nobody was here. She's like, no, you're tripping, you're tripping whatever. You're freaking out. I said no, there was literally somebody like in the bed with me, and I did not see them. I could see the ending, I could feel the inding, but nobody was here with me. She lays in the bed with me, and two seconds later, the closet door slammed and the pandle goes crazy like somebody's trying to jiggle it. We just looked at each other. I was like, nah, no, no, no way. We get up and we leave and we tell them what happened. They were trying to tell us to like, calm down, it's nothing, it's nothing. We said, no, there was something there. I know what I saw. I know what I felt like, there's something there. This thing already said it didn't like me, so I was already feeling eerie. So I was just waiting until the sun came up. Because we were there basically all night now and the rest of that night kind of just stayed up with them as they were playing. Night goes on. Sun comes up, I go home because I'm like, I'm not I'm not staying here anymore. I know what I experienced, I know what I felt. This is not, you know, something to play around with. But little did I know that was the start of everything else that would start following me. The second day after all that happened, and I was at home, I could feel like something. Was watching me at my house because I lived right next door. Again, I get off early, and my next door neighbor she would watch us. But because you know, she was a teenager and she was so close an age with me. She would just tell me, just go home, you know, just go home, relax, I'll be over there in a little bit. So I would I would go. I would go home by myself, and I would drop off all my things and I would wait for my brother and wait for my mom to get home. And as I'm waiting, it would feel like five minutes. And I would look at the clock and I'd be like, man, is it is it already time for my parents to get here, Because you know, the atmosphere in my house alone when nobody was there would feel like a full different time. I would kind of lose track while I'd be there, and I'd go to my room. And as I go to my room, I'd come out thinking that my parents were home because I could hear the garage open and my dad would usually be the first one to get home and open the garage to let everybody know like he's home. But as I got out of the room, you know, there's nobody home. There's nobody there. We have no animals at all, there's nothing. My neighbor is still at her house, and I remember calling her and I'm like, hey, like, did you try coming into the house. She's like, no, I didn't. I was like, well, it feels like it's already time for my parents to come home, and I think you. Were over here. You know, I never even went over there. I was like, well, I think somebody's home, and she just laughed it off and hung up, and I was like, no way, okay. So at that moment, I knew, okay, let me just stay in my room. And my mom always had this rule of when you leave the house, closed every door in the house. I know what it was, but it was always closed every door in the house. So when I got home, you know. I make sure all the doors were still closed because make sure nobody was home. If one of the doors were opened, I mean somebody was at the house. So at this time, nobody was home. All the doors were closed, and I was in my room and I just got off the phone with my neighbor after she just told me nobody was here and nothing, that nobody was there, but she wasn't there, and that nobody is at my house because you know, I'm there by myself. So I go back into my room and I hear it again, but I hear it from my parents's room across the house. Like a door opened up. Now somebody's here. I know somebody's here. As I exit my room from like the back, where like the front of the house, there's a hallway to like lead out of my room from the back that leads to the front and it goes to my my siblings room, and the restroom. Every room and every cabinet in that house was open. When I saw that, I ran out of the house and I started ringing my door my neighbor's doorbell like excessively. I was like, look, I'm sorry, but there's something at my house. And this is this is the freakiest thing that's ever happened to me. I've never had anything happen to me like this. Something's going on, and I think it's because we played that chord. So my neighbor comes and she's looking. She's like, well, it's just all the doors are open. I said, yeah, they weren't all open before. I do not know why they're all open now, because again I called you earlier thinking somebody was home. There was nobody here, and this is the result of what I saw. So I go over next door. As we go through the front of her house, the left side of the entrance, it's like a dining area and it leads into the kitchen. But as you go into the kitchen through that doorway, the pantry door. Is to the left. Well, as that pantry door is there, it leads through, like you know, the little bar, like a little section of a bar area, and the sink, and across from the sink there's the island area, and above the island there's. A chandelier of pots. So all these potsage just there. And I tell her as we walk in, I'm like, hey, that pot's moving by itself. And as she looked up, the pot was swinging and she was like, okay, that's weird. And we walk into her kitchen from that little door area where that. Little dining room is at. As we walk through that area, it feels like a force pushed us. Against the wall and we couldn't move. Have you ever been on one of those carnival rides where it spins and then the sliding thing goes up and you can't really move. It's like the gravitational pools pulling you. That's what it felt like. It felt like that, and we could not get up. But all we could do was look at each other. I turned my head to look at her, and the look of terror on her face kind of scared me because I was like, Okay, that's validation, Like this isn't just happening, this is happening for real. As I look at her to see what she's looking at, all the pots on that chandelier are pointing at us, like as if a wind is blowing at them, and she looks at me and she's trying to like screech, She's trying to yell, and nothing comes out. I was like, oh my god. And as soon as I said that, everything just kind of stopped, like nothing happened. Everything in the air felt like they played instead of it being paused, instead of it feeling like a different time zone. It all felt like everything went back into reality. A couple of days go by and my mom comes home. It's the weekend. You know, we're all hanging out watching ghost Marathon. We were trying to be scared. We were trying to feel, you know, something scary. My mom just didn't know what was going on at the time at the house. After I was trying to tell her all the stuff that was going on, she didn't want. To believe me. But we were sitting there watching you know, our shows, and you know, it cuts to commercial and her room in the living room, there's a door that leads into her room, and it's like right there in the living room, by the right by the tea. You know. The show cuts to commercial and her door is kind of cracked. For the life of me, I still feel that terror of what had happened already. So I'm like, man, there's something here. I know there's something here. I could feel it watching me because my mom likes to watch all these shows in the dark, and my dad had just installed one of those motion light sensors in the kitchen, so anytime something would walk by, or anytime somebody'd open the door, or anytime anything would happen, it would go off and it would open, it would. Turn on the light. This time, I was like, man, there's something here. I know. I feel it. It's watching me, and I feel like it's right there in the crack. The show cuts the commercial and the door shuts. I looked at my mom, and my mom looked at me, and she's like, did that just happen? I was like, okay, so you saw that right As soon as I finished that sentence. The door handled to that room started jiggling, as if somebody was trying to get out, and the door was like keeping somebody. He shut and I looked at my mom, and my little brother's right next to my mom, and he's like trying to comprehend what's going on. As soon as my brother. Sees it and he snaps out of it, I look at my mom and I was like, that just happened. She was like, okay, yeah, I saw that. That did just happen. I was like, okay, so I'm not crazy. There are things happening here. After that happened, my mom would tell me that she would see and feel things inside of her closet, and I always felt like there was something inside of her closet. My dad's a marine, you know, he flowed in desert storm, and my mom always tells me that, like there's things that there's things that may have followed my dad from everywhere he's been, because he's been in South Africa, he's been to you know, Saudi, he's been, Uh, he's been. He's been quite a few places, you know, in Kuwait and whatnot. But my mom always tells me that there might be something attached to my dad because of how things have happened to him while he's been sleeping, but when he wakes up, things tend to go back to normal. But most of the time when he's sleeping, she says that there's like a really like heavy energy around him. Well, this time she said that it was happening in the closet and she felt it, and she knows she felt it. She looks up and her ceiling fan is slowly turning by itself, and you know, my mom's looking for the AC event and the AC events on the other side of the room. She nudged my dad like, hey, get up, do you see this? And my dad slowly starts to look over it, and he's looking at the ceiling fan and his eyes widened, like, oh my god, yeah, I see that too, And then it stops, as if like somebody just put their hand up there and grabbed it to stop it. After that, my mom was like, yeah, there's stuff happening. There's stuff still happening here. I was like, okay, I knew it, and you know I knew it, you know, and now people are starting to see it for themselves. My brother started hearing and seeing things. My sister, she thought she would be seeing things and hearing things. It ended up becoming a normal thing because everybody was like, okay, yeah, Chris did this, and obviously it has to be that. It was like a super Bowl party at our house and they had just moved in, and like I said, you know, we were all good, good friends, you know, of the neighborhood, even the people that moved in across from us. We were all like a really night a tight knit family, like a neighborhood family. So we would all throw parties and whatnot. And that year, I remember they had just had that grandchild that was there, and that grandchild was up in the second floor and she was in her room in her bassinette, and everybody was at my house. The only people that were there at that neighbor's house was the grandparents, but they were already asleep downstairs. We're all watching the baby monitor, because the baby monitor has the camera built in. And as we're watching the baby monitor, they look and they see the monitor. They're like, wait a minute, there's somebody there. And as they think it's the neighbors, you know, like their grandparents or their parents, they try to get a hold of them. Nobody answers, so that's when they try to go next door, and as they go next door, they see nobody's awake and the baby's still asleep. But on the baby monitor, they said that they see this lady in white come out of the closet, look over the baby bassinet, look at the baby, look into the camera, and disappear. We were like, what. So the neighbor that went over there to go check everything out to see if it was the neighbors that were asleep that wasn't supposed to be watching the baby. Nobody was awake, nobody was there. He said the house was pitch black, house was still dark, and the baby was still asleep. That was the first story they started to tell us after the whole Ouiji board incident. And that's when I was like, okay, so there is probably something there before we even played that thing, and I had a feeling like there must have been something on that land that they built on because in my mom's closet, I knew there was something there too, like in that room. Really after I felt that thing watching me, even after the Wigi board, I just it's just an eerie feeling there and and I know it's lingering, and I feel like the Wiji board just kind of amped it up. But we're the first homeowners of that house, and the next door neighbors they're the second or third homeowners of that house. That nobody's died there, nothing's ever happened, like it's all been that. The only the only thing negative that's happened is that Wiji board, because apparently there was a bunch of fights that went on in that house as well between that family, like horrible fights, like not coming home to sleep at night, fights like I'm sleeping somewhere else. And it was just a big ordeal, like I could tell, like. That board really caused a lot of damage to that family. My neighbor did not want. To get rid of that thing, if you thought tooth and nail to keep that board with her at all times. And I don't know how they got rid of it, but they eventually got rid of it, and I'm glad they did. I can feel the residue that it gave off to my family because stuff is still still happening there. It's still pretty fresh. And mind you, they're very religious. My dad has a wall full of process and it has to be at least like twenty five plus crosses on that wall. And he's got one really big one that his friend made before he passed away, and it was made out of fence board woods and it's really cool because it looks like it looks like a cross that came from Jerusalem from how they used the wood and on how. They like you know, molded it. But yeah, he made it. It's pretty big. I would say, it's like at least like three or four feet tall and like at least a foot wide, and it's pretty big. It's like right in the middle of his wall. And my dad would always tell. Me anytime he feels or here's anything, he'll go and he'll start praying to the wall. We've had the house blessed too many times. There's a bishop named Oscar. He used to be a priest for a church down here in Houston, Texas called Pulling, and as he was a priest, he came and he need to blessed the house a couple of times. Too many priests have come through that church as well. You know, they've they've all come and they've blessed the house and they've fed it themselves. If there's something there, and it's just it's very, very crazy. I don't even keep up with it because they moved. They moved a while back, and I don't keep up with them at all because I know it just brings up, It brings a bunch of memories and like to this day, like I said, when I go to my parents' house, I could feel it, and I look next door and I can tell like there is something there. When they were renovating that. House, all those people that were renovating the house that went in to do work on the floor, on the building, you know, like everything everything that they did work on, they would come out and they wouldn't even finish the work half of the time. And my dad asked one of the workers one time, because they were all Hispanics, he has some Hispanish, He's like, hey, y'all, you know see anything weird in that house? And one of the guys said yeah. We were all downstairs one time and all the doors slammed all at the same time, and we all looked at each other, and nobody wanted to go upstairs and check. He was like, really, he said yeah. And then one time he said one of his workers was upstairs trying to work, and he heard somebody whispering in his ear and he came running downstairs and he never came back to the job. So my dad ended up telling them what happened, and the guy was like, well, that explains it, and then he said it took him a couple of people to try to come without having to tell him what happened to the house so they could finish the job. So my mother in law, she's from Handudas and she's a very spiritual person. Like she's she can sense different energies and whatnot. When I first got together with my wife, when I went to go ask you know, cause I'm very classic dude, I'm old school, you know. I went and I asked my mother in law and her and my father in law like, hey, look, you know, I really love your daughter. I'm going to ask for her hand, Like is it okay if I can marry her. Well, that day that I went to go do that, her mom asked if she could, you know, cleanse me, and I was like, yeah, of course, you know please, Like actually I actually have like a little headache. And I was actually having a bunch of headaches at that time too. So as she she was cleansing me, every time she took like a split second, she would spit and she was like okay. Like she would tell my wife like, yeah, he has something heavy to him. And she finally finished cleansing me and she broke the egg and she said, wow, there is no yoke. Everything turned liquid. I was like what she said, Yeah, that's kind of crazy. After that, I was like, okay, she cleansed me once. And then my wife she knows this lady in the Pasadena area of Texas, and she's an Aztec medicine lady and she's really good. She's the real deal. My wife, she took me and my child over there because my child was having very like very bad gas problems. She did like an impacto on her and she helped my daughter. And when she helped my daughter, she was asking. She was ask my aunt. She's like, does does he need one? Does he need one? And she was like, you know what, while we're here, just give him one. And in my head I was like, man, that's crazy. Why was she asking that I needed one? You know, like, this is this is crazy, But why not If she's asking, she's asking for a reason. She knows, she knows what she's doing. She's good at her job. The minute she started doing her sage routine on me and her egg routine, she then started to spit the same way that my mother in law was spitting. At one point, when she went to my back and my lung area, she she hit the smoke with my back and then she fanned it. And as she fanned it, she said she My. Wife says she coughed up the biggest black movie she's ever. Seen, and I was like, no way. She said yeah. Then that lady started telling her like, yeah, your husband has something like dark attached to him. That's when my wife introduced me to one of my saints and I started praying to her. And when I started praying to her, like everything felt like a cloak. Like I then felt like, Okay, I'm safe now, Like there's like there is nothing to be worried about. There should be nothing to be scared about because my saints with me. I explain that to people, and my wife would tell me she's like, you know, ever since he started praying, She's like, I've noticed that a lot of your friends like to come around. And she's like, I've noticed that you seem a lot happier, you seem. A lot more outgoing. She was like, yeah, that's that's really good. She's like, you know, you need to keep you need to keep your faith in something. And that's when that's when I started to turn in leaf and I was like, you know what, You're right, I do need to change the ways of how of how I. Look at everything. Like, the spooky stuff is cool, it's all nice to get into, but you can't always be into it that deep because when you are, it does summon something that you really wish you didn't, you know, because those things tend to change lives. Dude, is it cool if I get to one more story, I feel like my cousin wants me to tell a story for him. So before my cousin passed away, man he was he was very very cool guy. He always liked to, you know, have played play card games with his friends and have his friends come over and hang out. Well, he never really told his friends, you know, that house was haunted, that his house was haunted. There was a couple of friends that knew, you know, because they lived in the neighborhood. And mind you like this, this neighborhood is pretty it's pretty haunted as well, because he lived right in front of a park, and the park is haunted. People have seen kids there all the time, and people have seen kids at their houses. Okay, at my cousin's house, he lives right on the corner and his his kitchen is kind of like right there on the corner as well of the house. And they all kind of just sat there and they chilled. They would play you know, Texas hold him as they were playing. One of his friends that was there, he looks over at like the pantry area and then he, you know, smooth, looks back at my cousin and everybody around him, and everybody looks at him, and he's like, they're like, are you okay. He's like, hey, Anika, did you have do you have ghosts here? And he was like, why what did you see? In a chuckle, and you know, his friend goes, dude, I just saw a little boy staring at me. He's like, no, you did it. He's like, yeah, man, he's right there by the pantry staring at me. And when everybody looked, they said that he was gone, like he had vanished. So they all told him hey, go tell his mom. Go tell his mom what you saw. Because apparently that little boy had been all around that house, popping up everywhere on everybody, scaring him and just popping up randomly. And he was a little boy in overalls, like old school farm overalls. And that's when all his other friends that had never seen it before, they were like, no way, no way. And again he was. One of those friends that was like, yeah, no, it's real. I'm with the other guys now, I believe. Chris. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with the rest of us here at the True Scary Story community. I really hope everybody else here enjoyed it as much as I did. Thinking about the Ouiji board in general has always creeped me out. Yeah. I always think of the kmart that was that was pretty close to my house, and they used to have this glow in the dark Wigi board, and I remember asking my mom about it, like, oh cool. You know, I didn't know much about games or anything, but they're like no, And then I remembered, you know, from other you know, radio stations and Spanish and everything, thinking about that, like, oh, lawika, And it took me a while to connect it to. Actually that Wuiji board was lawika, which is how you say it in Spanish. Some of my family used to say it, and it was always a huge no, you don't mess with that. But interesting to think about it. This is why it creeps me out. Wigi board stories really really creeped me out because of that. But also how unsettling is it that right after you have a session with the wigi board, stuff starts happening and then it just doesn't stop. And like how, I don't know. That creeps me out because thinking about how many people at parties, sleepovers for whatever kind of gathering everybody's board and you're just like, hey, let's play this, and then you don't want to feel left out, right, so you play and then this stuff starts happening. Plus, you know, when you have like a young babysitter who you think is cool, right and there they're into this kind of thing, you might feel a little pressure to also do that thing. And you know from all these other kinds of stories, like that's how back in the wood is it the seventies or the eighties people got into smoking and doing all this other stuff is because of that, you know, you saw somebody who was doing it, you got fear pressured, and then you you end up doing it too. Plus when they were mentioning, actually, when when christ was mentioning the idea of the babysitter, I thought of that story. I don't know if you've heard it, but it's about how there's a babysitter taking care of a kid and she's alone at the house. Oh, she's just with the kid, and there's a phone call and it rings, and then the whole thing is like, well, the call's coming from inside the house, like get out of there. It's a really creepy scary story, like it's it's It was one of the early ones. I think. It was also part of the collection of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, which many of you may already know is one of my favorites, one of the things that got me into the paranormal, and I guess a lot of us into the whole paranormal, the whole paranormal thing, you know. But anyway, the question here, the question that I have for you is, have you ever played with Luiji board? Have you ever been pressured into playing and chose not to? Do you believe that it can do what these stories tell us, like, are you a believer in the consequences of it? If you don't understand the I guess if you don't have the emotional maturity, if you don't have the knowledge of how to close a session or anything like that, can it harm you? Is that possible? That's our question for this week. Please let me know either through a DM via the comments through the comments section on Spotify, let me know what you think. Very interested in finding out what are what the consensus here is. I'm also gonna put a little poll if you're listening on spot I'm going to set it there so you let me know what you think of the wigi board because we do get a lot of wigi board stories. When I actually do a compilation of wigi board stories because I find them all super interesting. I hope you do too, because it's it's it's a topic that has been circulating for a really long time, and not just through a board, but also through other means, like how do you communicate with the dead, Because once a person passes away, a pet, somebody from long ago you never met, but you want to communicate with them. People have been trying all to communicate for a very long time, seances and messaging through candles and cards and everything to try to communicate with the deceased. So it's also a way that people have used to grieve. So interested in knowing about what you think of the Wigi board and also what you think about this last thing, which is communicating with the dead. Is it possible? So that's what I got for you this week. If you have a story that you want to share here on True Scary Story, head on over to True scarystory dot com. There's a little button there.
