He comes running out screaming. And I'm like, what, there's a man in your closet. Today we'll hear a series of stories that have been kept for years, stories of a certain sensitivity to the unseen that follows from home to home. My name is Edwin, and here is Jazz Moves and Erica's true scary story. I'm Erica, and my story with the paranormal begins when I was about six years old. This would be late nineties is when I had my first experience. I was living in Grand Michigan. We lived in this house that I would say had a lot of activity on its own. But my experience actually happened in my bedroom one night when I couldn't fall asleep. I don't know what it was. Something in the air just kept me up, you know, more like something's gonna happen. I remember looking out of my window from my bed, just down to the street. I had this weird sensation of something being in the room with me. That feeling kind of drew my attention to a corner in the room, and when I looked, I realized that there was a floating lady. She wasn't a full figure, it was more like from the torso up. At first, I remember trying to scream out to my mom, my dad, anybody that could hear me. The words just wouldn't come out for the life of me. After a while, I was finally able to say, Mom, Mom, there's a lady in my room. She was signaling me to come towards her. I was asking my mom, like, what do I do? She's telling me to go. My mom's reaction was just to stay out of the room. She did not come in. I might have been a little bit hesitant to go in there myself, but at the time it was just like, come help me, Like what do I do where she was positioned. It was actually towards the exit of the room when my mom finally said, like, get out of the room, come here, I'm waiting for you outside. It was kind of like, well, I don't want to pass by her, like what if she reaches out and grabs me. Finally I got out of the room and my mom was asking me questions about her appearance, and as I was describing her, she realized that the description that I was providing her was very similar to her grandmother. She mentioned that I was the only grand child that she had met from that side of the family before she passed. That was when it all began for me. My mom had different experiences there too. One time she said that she saw a figure walking around her bed and she almost jumped off of the balcony. We had a balcony in that house, and my dad caught her. She was kind of like in a trance. Thankfully, we moved out of the house and nothing really followed us. I did continue having experiences in our new house, but they were not as severe. One time, my mom heard me knocking on her door and she said, come in, and when she realized nobody was coming in, she went to my door and then she asked me if I had been knocking on her door, And I'm like. Would you talking about? And I think we both kind of shared whatever connection to the paranormal exists in our family. Many of the experiences that I had. She has similar stories, especially in that house. So I don't know at this point if it was the houses that we lived in or us. I think I was like eighteen years old when I had moved out and things started happening in the apartment. It got progressively worse. At first, it was just like this overwhelming sensation of like I'm scared. Something in your body just tells you something isn't right or something is here, and you can feel that negative energy in the room. At first it was clicking on the wall, then it was scratching. Mind you, this is not something that I had heard in the apartment. Previously. We did have a loft, and that loft led to like an upstairs area that served as a bedroom. We could hear footsteps going up the stairs. We'd come out and like, did somebody get it in the apartment? Is somebody here with us? And nobody would be there, So I started kind of dismissing things as like, Okay, maybe it's the neighbors on the other side that are causing the wood to creak. Finally, my previous partner had the biggest fear of the door swinging open by itself. And I don't know if she just put this energy out there or. What it was, but one night we were getting ready for bed and I closed the door behind me. As I'm walking to the bed, all of a sudden, the door swings open. It was November at that point, no windows are open. There's no way you could rationalize it by saying a gust of wind blew it open. We had no source of wind coming into the apartment. I just recall leaving that night and we slept in our car. That is how terrified we were what we were experiencing in. The apartment. When we finally came back the next day, I'm like, almost like I was being possessed. I would look at myself in the mirror, and my reflection wasn't me. My eyes were dark, almost like black holes. I didn't recognize myself even though I was looking at myself in the mirror. Finally, I decided, who can I run to? Who can I get help from. I was raised Catholic, so the one thing that my mom told me is you need. To go to church. You need to go tell somebody in church that you are experiencing these things and they're going to help you. I really put it. In my mind that if I just went to church and I did communion, confession and everything, that it would just cleanse me and give me a layer of protection that I desperately needed. At the time. I headed to church and I went and did communion, But when I was sitting there, I could swear that the father of the priest was staring at me and that he was being drawn to me because I had this negative energy just oozing out of me. I remember him like just glancing in my direction, staring at me, and I'm sitting there in my pew thinking like, does he know that I have something inside me? Does he know that like I've got a negative energy attached to me? I wonder if he senses this. I didn't have the guts to go and ask him, but after I did communion, I went home, and I can swear that that's the reason why things stopped happening. The negative energies seemed to subside. It wasn't as intense as a previously was, and I didn't feel that negative energy inside of me. I had also experienced sleep paralysis, coming from a Mexican family. They referred to that as set, translating to the dead is on top of you, and I think that's what they associate with, like the feeling of not being able to move and that paralysis sensation. I had a sleep paralysis at my mom's house when I was still living there, probably sixteen years old. Me and my best friend at the time went upstairs, which was actually a place that we never really hung out before, but my mom had gotten a king sized bed, so her and I went up there just to hang out on a king sized bed because we had never really slept on a king size bed. It felt enormous. We fell asleep. It was still daytime when we fell asleep, so I blame it on like being a teenager and staying up late and then going to school, and when you come home, you're like, I can really take a nap right now. While we were. Taking a nap, I thought I had woken up from my nap, but I realized later that I might have still been asleep. There was immediately to the right a door that led to an attic at my mom's house. So when you reach the top of the stairs, you can go left and enter the upstairs living area, or you can go right and there's the tiniest door to enter that attic. I heard something coming up the stairs. I remember only being able to move my my eyes. I looked over to see, like, you know, who is it that's coming up? And I realized there was a demon figure at the top of the stairs, just looking at us. It wasn't really moving, wasn't coming towards us. It was just kind of watching us. All of me just wanted to reach over and wake up my friend, but for the life of me, I couldn't even move my pinky and I remember being so scared. I decided to focus all of my energy into trying to move my pinky finger because it was closest to her. Somehow, that focus, or that shift of energy made that demon that was observing us just go away, and when it did go away, I was able to move my hand and wake her up. Somehow I ended up waking myself up instead, and that's when I was realized I was still in a dream. My heart was racing. You wake up kind of in a cold sweat, and you realize, holy cow, that was a wild experience. I immediately woke her up and I told her about my dream, and she was like, we're never gonna take a nap up here again, Like, forget it, We're not coming back up here. I was pregnant and we had ended up moving into a house that we were renting from my then partner's cousin. That house had like creepy vibes from the moment when we moved in, But I think I kind of dismissed it and said, like, it's just my hormones, Like I'm pregnant and super sensitive to everything right now, so I'm just gonna brush it off. But it had like major creepy vibes. We did have a small shit suit at the time, and he used to always sleep like on my side of the bed, really close to me. So that night I remember feeling like super scared. I couldn't understand why, but I just felt like something was in the hallway. Finally, I ended up dozing off, and in my sleep, I remember feeling some kind of shadow walking down the hallway. I couldn't move once again, I was like frozen. This figure opened the door, like swung it open, and it was coming towards the bed, and I could see my dog at the bottom of the bed. His ears perked up. I could tell that he sensed whatever it was too, and he gets up and he starts growling at the door where I can feel this energy coming from, and I'm like freaking out. But I can't. I can't do absolutely anything, so I'm like praying that my dog will scare it off. Somehow, I ended up snapping out of it, and I wake up and I look down and my dog is like nowhere near the door. He's not growling, he's sleeping. That was super scary. After that, I was like, I no longer want to live in this house, and I think I threw a fit. We ended up moving out and I didn't have an experience like that again. After that, I met Jasmine, and I think this is where she should start sharing her story. I'm Jasmine, and my story starts when I was like six. But I feel like my story, like there's a lot of similarities to Eric's story than mine, so I think it's really funny. We were living in a trailer, so I had the front bedroom. My mom's room was all the way on the other end, and I would sleep in my bed. But I was scared and I felt like there was something with me. I just didn't know yet. So I would sleep with the TV on and that's just how I would fall asleep. But I would cover my face with my blanket and just leave like a little hole for my mouth and my nose to be able to breathe. And then I would hear stuff in the closet. Toys would start like making noises, and so I would be really scared. So the next day I'd wake up, find those toys and I'd throw them away. So my sleep prelessis actually started when I was seven. The first time it happened, I was obviously sleeping blanket over my face, but I just couldn't move and I could feel something in the room with me so scary, and I couldn't get up. I remember finally like being able to get up, and when I did get up, I'd scream. So that would happen like every other night for a while. You can hear my mom come running down the hall every time i'd start screaming because of whatever was holding me down. It was so bad that she put me in therapy. She called it night terrors because she thought that I was just going through an emotional detachment from like my mom and dad's breakup. But really, like I was trying to tell her there's something scary in my room, and like she wouldn't really believe me. I remember sitting in her rooms she was like around the same time frame, and I was playing Barbies on the floor and I remember just sitting there and I felt like there was something in there with me, and I look up. There was just these white shadows. You couldn't see a face or anything, but they were just like white mists going back and forth. I ran out of my room and ran to my mom and told her. Back then at that time, too, I would hear my mom calling me Jazmine, Jasmine. It sounded like my mom, and it happened all the time, so I would go run to her and yeah, Mom, what, and she'd be like, I'm not calling you. And then I'd be like, but you just did you called me? And she's like, no, I didn't say anything. But it happened all the time. I always heard my mother calling me, and then nothing really, I guess happened until we moved out of there. But it wasn't until that I had my son. I was giving him a bath one day and nobody was home, and I heard something coming up the stairs. The stairs are right by that door, so I'm like, Oh, somebody's home. But then I look at my son and he's looking behind me at the doorway and he's smiling at it. And I didn't want to turn around cause I knew there was something behind me, so I like looked there was nobody there, but my son is just staring, so I slammed that door, but like you could just hear something walking down that hallway the whole time. So finally they get home and I'm in the bathroom with my son and he's like out of the bathroom, like what are you doing? And I'm like, there was somebody in here and I want to leave and I was waiting for you guys to get home, and they're like, there's nobody here. Did you have the door locked? And I was like it was locked, there was somebody in here. Nobody really believed me, So that kind of just went out the door. And around that time, I started having weird dreams. I had a dream about a little boy in that same house that we were living in, and he was like this dark shadow, but he was like an evil little kid and he was trying to get me. But in the dream, I was trying to get him out of the house because he was there to hurt us. My coworker at the time came knocking on my door and was telling me, Jasmine, you need to get out, You need you guys need to get out of this house. There's a boy here. He wants you out. We were trying to pack our stuff and hurry up and leave. The next day at work, I talked to my one of my friends about the dream, and she was friends with that same coworker that was in the dream. And she stops blank face, looks at me, and she's like, come with me, and she takes me to that coworker and she's like, tell her your story. That coworker just stopped what she was doing, and she was like, I had the same dream, but from the different perspective. Pretty much, we were in the same dream together. And at that point, my mom and dad finally were starting to believe that there was something going on, so they had the whole house blessed. The father came. He brought his holy water and like he was just throwing it everywhere. He showered me in it too. That kind of went away for a while. It wasn't until I moved out when I was eighteen with me and my son, and we moved to our first apartment. We lived on the second floor, so there was stairs going down to the doorway. So this was like our first few months there and I was watching a movie with him, he was about two, and he stands up on the couch and he looks behind me again, and he's like, Mommy, the man and points to the top of the stairs where you would go to the doorway. And I was so scared because obviously that's the only way out. I don't want to turn around, and I don't want to know what the heck he's talking about. So I covered his eyes and I'm like to turn around. Watch the movie. We're not gonna see it. It's fine. The next day, I came home from work and I brought him with me. We walked up the stairs and he ran into my bedroom to go grab a toy or whatever. He comes running out screaming may and I'm. Like, what, there's a man in your closet. Any smart person, I think would call the cops, but I didn't. And that's so I walked to the room and he's holding my hand, and as soon as we turned into like the viewing area of the closet, this dude freaks out. He starts running away. He leaves me in the room by myself because he saw something that I couldn't, and I got scared and I just froze. So I called my mom, and my mom came with like sage and holy water, and she like busts the house, and it was okay for a little bit. Fast forwarding to. Meeting my ex and him moving in, so we at this point like it wasn't horrible. We started seeing a little boy where I thought it was my son, and I remember him running past me and going running down the stairs. So I went to a look down the stairs and nope, my son was not there. My son was in his bedroom. So that was like the beginning of it. And then we saw like just things started getting knocked off the shelves. I actually didn't believe in that kind of thing. He chalked it up till like, it's just things knocking over, It's fine. Didn't really tell me his stories, but he had told me too that he had solved the little boy run. He thought it was my son, but it also wasn't, and he didn't tell me that till much later. One night, I was getting ready for bed and my ex was in the living room and my son was laying down getting ready for bed as well, and I just heard a big thump. So I walked out and my ex was like super scared, and I was like, what is that? And he didn't know, So I looked in the kitchen, there was a blender that had been sitting there for a week because I haven't used it, just like secure in the back, but it was all the way across the kitchen, like it hit the cabinet and fell on the floor. So I picked it up and I just kind of let it go because nobody else seemed to be worried about it. At that point, I started hearing stuff again, so I had my mom come with her sage and her blessing water, and they've blessed the apartment again. But that man that my son was seeing, I feel like came back, but it was more so like in sleep paralysis for me. The first time I saw him again was when I was getting ready for work, but I was too tired, so I just kind of laid on the couch until it was time to go, and I heard something coming down the hallway and then into the living room, and we had a night light on the wall and I just could see the ceiling because my back was facing the living room, I was facing the back of the couch, and I could see this shadow of like a man on the ceiling because of the he was standing in front of the light. I wanted to. Move so badly to see what it was that I couldn't and all I could see was the ceiling, and then all of a sudden, it told me to get the f out. You could hear it turn around and walk back down the hallway. And as soon as I heard it turn around and walk down the hallway, I was able to get up and I shot up off the couch and I ran after it to go see, like, who is that? And my ex was sleeping, my son was sleeping, nobody was awake, and I was like, I don't know what to do with that, but I told my parents about it. The second time it happened, I heard it moving the chairs in the kitchen around again. I didn't want to get up, so I heard something coming down the hallway and into the bedroom and I was laying there and I could just see the shadow coming, but I was frozen and I couldn't move. It just leaned over the bed, and this time I could see it scary face. There was teeth, its eyes are red. And every time these sleep rouls this would happen, I would start praying then, like when I prayed that time, it started laughing at me. But when I got to say amen, is when it just stopped. It went away. It vanished, and I was able to get up, and I was sweating, and I was so scared. My parents believed me, and my family really believed me too. They would always tell me, like, you. Need to get out of there. At this point, I was kind of sick of it. I was sick of being scared all the time. So I had asked the office, has anybody had these similar stories? And my friend worked in the office, so she had told me that the lady that lived there before had gotten kicked out because she ran out of her apartment scared, naked because she had gotten in the tower or something and she was all wet and she ran out saying that she was seeing stuff. Come to find out, this lady was doing the Ouiji board in the apartment, and I think she brought something in it. We got so many complaints, actually, because sometimes I wouldn't even be home and my neighbors would complain that they heard people walking around at three am, they heard people jumping, and I would get noise complaints all the time, and I'd be like, dude, I work for a shift, so I don't know what you're hearing, but it's not me. I just felt crazy because I'm like, what if the office thinks I'm crazy too? So I had a message in my neighbor, which I was dreading doing for a long time because she was very religious. And I didn't want to be weird. Finally, I was just sick of it, so I messaged her and I was like, hey, like this is a weird question, like please don't hate me, but are you guys seeing stuff in your apartment because we are and it's starting to really freak me out. She said, are you talking about the man? I just got goosebumps and I was like, oh my gosh, like finally I'm not the only one. And she was like, yeah, he walks around our hallways. We see him sometimes. Even my husband sees him, and the kids see him. He'll be standing in the corner of the room. We don't know how to get rid of him because he just keeps coming back. And I told her, like me too, like we do the blessings and everything, and he just keeps coming back. And so finally, like. For her to say that, because she was so religious, it made me feel better to know that I wasn't going crazy. Jasmine and I met in twenty eighteen, and we started off as friends. We were just hanging out having a good time. It later developed into like a relationship. I was working in Zealand at the time and she was living in Holland and I was living in Grand Rapids. Zeeland is kind of like in the middle between Grand Rapids and Holland. We ended up working for the same company. Actually, we were just in different departments and in different buildings, so we didn't really get. To see each other at work. But I was working third shift, she was working first, and it was kind of like a weird schedule, but we would see each other when she would get out and I would wake up in the afternoon. One day, she asked me if I just wanted to go stay at her apartment so I didn't have to drive back in the afternoon to see her. And at that point I was like, you know what, I'm so exhausted. Third shift sucks. Yes, I will totally take you up on that offer. So I ended up going to her apartment and I was knocked out. Something woke me up. It sounded like somebody had came into the apartment. I had the bedroom door closed. Immediately, my first thought is maintenance must be here. My second thought was her exes here to pick up some of his stuff that he left behind. He's gonna come in here and find me sleeping on the bed, and like it's gonna be super awkward. I could clearly hear somebody rustling in the apartment, somebody walking around the footsteps came down the hallway to the bedroom, but they stopped there. I was kind of expecting for that door to swing open and you know, like for somebody to come in. It never happened. And when I got up, I called Jasmine and I asked her like, Hey, did you have anything scheduled with maintenance today? And she was like no, Why what happened? And I'm like, well, when I was sleeping, somebody came into the apartment, but I didn't get up to verify who it was, nor did they come into the bedroom where I was sleeping. And I was like, yeah, I was hoping that it would be maintenance and if it's not maintenance, then maybe it was your ex And she's like, he no longer has a key. Well, now I'm extremely freaked out because I know I heard this. There was no explanation for it. So I think that was when I first started just feeling weirded out at her apartment. Soon after that, we u hauled, so I convinced her to come move into my house in Grand Rapids. And while we're moving her out of her apartment, I was walking down the hallway and down the hallway you passed her son's room and then you take a left and you can go into the living room and then exit the apartment. I'm walking down the hallway and in her son's room, I see the figure of a woman go into the closet. Well, when I turned the corner, I realized that the person that I thought was in the bedroom, which to me it was Jasmine, is actually standing in the living room. I just saw a ghost, and Jasmine realizes this, and we both just got freaked out. I don't know how we continued packing. I think we waited until somebody else came and that's when we went back and like, okay, hurry up, get all the stuff out, Like I'm so done. With this apartment. The strange things, I feel like they really follow Jasmine. I don't know what it is. I had never experienced anything at the house that we're living at and as soon as she move she brings. Her vibes with her. Jasmine immediately came in here with this idea that there was an old man in my garage. That was a coincidence because one of my cousin's boyfriends actually had visited the house many times. He always said, like, Yo, I feel like there's like some man just looking through the garage window, because the garage door has clear windows. It's one of those square cut out deals. And I was always like, oh, Kevin, you're crazy, there's nothing there. Leave that garage alone. Like, please don't say anything like that, because I've finally gotten around to not being scared and I don't need that energy right now. When Jasmine said the same thing, I was like, oh my gosh, maybe there is something to it. When I first moved in, I feel like that man had followed me here, like just shut man that was there. Erica worked third shift or something, so I would have to sleep here by myself with the kids. My sleep proless is continued here too, And the first few nights here, I was sleeping and in this dream I had heard something under the bed and I just remember looking and sticking my head under the bed, and the same little boy that we keep telling you about that we saw. I saw him. Huddled up in the corner of the back of the bed, and he was scared, and I was like, what's wrong, what's wrong? And he points at the bottom of the bed and there was just like that demon face of like the man crawling towards him and he's scared, and I just got scared for him, and seeing him, I think it scared me and it woke me up. So I woke up, but I was sweating. And that was like my first experience of that scary demon man and the little boy here. And I remember telling Erica and calling her and like being super super scared. I ended up switching a first shift. Yeah, and after I could finally have her here at night with me, when we would get ready to lay down for bed, and it was super dark in our room. She doesn't sleep with night lights, so I had to suck it up and start sleeping. In the dark. And so it'd be dark in here, but I could feel something in the corner of the room and I would tell her something's going to happen, like I know that my sleep process is going to happen tonight, please be aware of me and like get me or just feel me. And I just always knew, like tonight it's going to happen. It's going to happen. So I would be so scared to fall asleep, and finally when I would fall asleep, my sleep processis would happen. What was weird is that our connection is so strong that when she was having the sleep paralysis, something would wake me up from my dream or like my sleep, and I would know that she was in distress just by like the way that she was breathing. I would shake her and I'd be like, babe, babe, you need to wake up, you need to wake up. And then she would wake up and say I was having sleep paralysis, and I'm like, I know, that's why I woke you up, like and she's like thank you, because it was just getting like really really bad. So I don't exactly know how that works. I just know that it did, and many times I prevented her sleep paralysis from like being really really bad. While I was here, there was. Like a dark shadow in the room every time, like there was just a feeling of like darkness in the corner of the room and I just wouldn't know like there was something there. One time, Jasmine and I had this experience together. We were both in our bathroom. There was like a little. Boy that ran past the bathroom into my son's room, and we called out his name. Nobody responded, so we both went and looked and there was nobody in his bedroom. Just going in there and realizing that neither one of the boys had ran in there, and that the room was completely empty, and we just saw a little boy figure dart in there. I was like, Okay, now this is beginning to get a little bit strange. Later on, we had friends over we would do like game nights. I recall it was close to Christmas because we had the Christmas tree up. We were just. All hanging around in the living room and the dining room area. We have a big table in the dining room where we usually play our board games and stuff, so that's where we were at. We did have our kids home with us that day and they were kind of just playing around upstairs downstairs in the living room. So while we're sitting at the table, Jasmine and I both caught what looked like to be a little boy that had ran behind the Christmas tree. We both immediately went to go, say, boys, get out from behind the Christmas tree. What are you doing? You're gonna knock it over. So we both peek our heads over and we realized that there's nobody there, and we call out for the boys and they. Respond from upstairs. We both immediately turned and looked at each other and I was like, did you just see a little boy run into this tree? Like I was about to get really upset that they were even playing behind the Christmas tree and there's nothing there, And she's like, are you kidding? There's nothing there? And she's like, I saw the same thing. I was going to tell you, like who went back there. That was the second time. That we both had the little boy shadow that we both caught from the corner of our eye or you know whatever. But we both recognized that it was like a little boy presence. So it was kind of like, are we both tripping like on the same frequency here. Definitely, the little boy was something different because we continued to see him, I feel like, and he was never something that I felt like was scary. Same. I didn't get like bad vibes from it. It just as I mentioned earlier. It scares you because you know it's not supposed to be there. Yeah, there was also another time where we were both sleeping, and my son, he's the one that's been able to see the man and everything else, so he's also been very like sensitive to those kind of things. But at one point we were both sleeping, me in our cut and I remember waking up from sleep paralysis. And in the sleep when I was sleeping, there was a little boy and in the dream it was Isaac, my son, and he walks in and he stands at the edge of the bed and I'm like, what's wrong, And he lifts up the blankets and he goes under them, and I remember just being scared, like so scared that it transformed from my son to just this dark shadow, like a demon, and it was trying to get us from under the blankets. And I remember just waking up and being like, wake up, wake up to Erica. And I remember that like because. She had felt the same where she was having the same kind of dream. When you woke me up, I told you about how we needed to get Isaac because I had just had a very scary dream that involved Isaac having a paranormal experience in his room and something was in his room that was trying to harm him. I was like, I can't believe that your you know, sleep paralysis was tied to Isaac. When I just had a dream about paranormal stuff with Isaac, he was obviously the one in danger in that dream. So I told her, like, we need to go get him from that bedroom, like something is not right. He needs to be protected, he needs to be safe with us. We actually ended up getting both of them from their bedrooms while they were sleeping and just bringing them into our bedroom and they slept with U s night, just based off of us having a shared experience that revolved around one of our sons. And it was just like that motherly instinct telling you. You need to protect your kids. We have two boys. But the weird thing was that it was tied to Isaac and not Jayden. My daughter. She was sitting on the toilet one day and was looking at the doorway and I was standing there waiting for her to finish. She's gonna be two, and she's looking at the doorway and she said no, no, And then I'm like, are you talking to And she's looking at the doorway still, and she points at the shower and she's like no, like asking the question. Like no, like the shower. No. And so she looks back at the doorway and whatever it is must have been telling her something, and like she's trying to figure out what it was. So she points at me and she says mom, and then she answers back with no, no, and just continues to point around the bathroom, like trying to figure out what the heck it is this thing wants. And she finally gets frustrated. She throws her head back and she says, ah, and I'm like, okay, let's get out of here. We lost a friend a few years ago. She got hit by a drunk driver while she was walking on the side of the road. The week after this happened, we were both kind of mourning the loss and just kind of wrapping our heads around the fact that this has happened to somebody that you know and you just spent time with them recently and now like they're gone. This friend used to come over for Jasmine to do her nails all the time. She was like a super loyal client. We have a nail station set up for Jasmine downstairs in the basement. Our basement is finished and we also have like the laundry room down there. I went to go do laundry. Jasmine stayed upstairs. He's in our bedroom. And while I'm doing laundry, I look over to the nail station where our friend had just a few weeks ago sat and I started thinking about her, just kind of remembering, and I got really really sad. I'm continuing to do my laundry and I feel something just brush up behind me. It walked past me, and I was like, oh my gosh. I turned around. You know when you get a gust of wind that kind of swooshes your hair, just gives it that little bit of movement. I felt that against my hair and like it moved and everything from my face. And I turned around and there's nobody there. I'm starting to get freaked out because I'm in the basement by myself and nobody's around me. I turned and I looked in the mirror and I saw a lady's face. It was a reflection, and I couldn't really focus on the details of the face, but I could see the hair. The length matched our friend's hair length, the color, the highlights, and everything. Her face was in the mirror as a reflection. I got freaked out and I turned to see if it was there in the direction where it should have been, and there's nothing there. I come upstairs and I'm almost in tears because I'm super freaked out, and I find Jasmine is actually crying. We both kind of caught each other by surprise because our facial expressions were kind of like I'm in distress and she's in distress, and now I'm worried about her, and now she's worried about me. And when I asked her, like what's going on, She's like, I'm just thinking about our friend and got this like overwhelming sense of dread, like dis grief. And I'm like, holy cow, this is so crazy because at the same time that you're feeling this about her upstairs, I'm having a similar experience downstairs in the basement, and I just got. So freaked out. I've told her what I felt and what I saw in the mirror and how I just left running, and she was like taken back by the fact that we both experienced it at the same time. I guess. So we had another instance where we had a shared experience. My cousin had passed away not too long ago, and it was another case where we were kind of dealing with the grief of that. We're backing out of our driveway and as I'm backing out, it's kind of dark, and we both saw a man figure standing in the driveway. I thought I was going to hit him. This is how close he was to our car. I saw him wearing a white shirt and he was just like super close to the car. And I almost. Pulled the car to a jerking stop because of how scared I was that I was going to run this guy over. And I told Jessmand I'm like, oh my gosh, there's a guy there, and she's like, I saw him too, but there's nobody there. Because it's dark, I didn't want to get out of the car. I'm like, I'm just gonna pray that nobody is behind there and that I don't hit them as I'm continuing to back out. So we backed out of the driveway completely, and as I'm pulling out, I'm like looking around to see if there was anybody there. Nobody was there. But it kind of. Makes you feel like, are we both crazyland do we share the same consciousness. Recently, we went to Kentucky and I put together this theory. Something drew us to travel to New Orleans, and as you know, New Orleans is huge on like voodoo and witchcraft and all that kind of stuff. So we went to New Orleans and then we went to Salem. I don't know how we ended up just deciding like, hey, let's go to Boston and that's actually really close to Salem, so let's travel there. And then now that we went to Louisville, we booked these little tours in each city, and every time we booked a tour, it just happened to be themed around like paranormal stuff. And they all came to this conclusion of like, oh, there's a strong witch presence here. And I was like, isn't this weird that we've now traveled to three different cities and all three of them are tied to like witch trials or just a lot of witchy stuff. And She's like that is kind of strange. And I'm like, out of all the places in the world that we could have traveled to, or even in the United States, like, what keeps drawing us to these places that are connected to witches or paranormal. So we went to Ohio with my cousin for a birthday trip of his. He wanted to go to a petting zoo that's out there, and we stayed in this really old hotel. It almost felt Victorian. It was a place where you walk in and you're like, oh, this is definitely haunted. And as soon as we walked in, that's exactly what Jasmine said. So we get our room. When you walk into the room, there was two queen size beds. There was a. Door that had the toilet and the shower. But outside of that, in the actual room where the little refrigerator and stuff is at, there was a sink and a mirror. We're brushing our teeth and both of us felt a cold spot near the sink, like right in front of the sink. When we shared that with each other, I was like, I didn't want to bring this up, but like, there's a cold spot over here in Jasmine's like, oh my gosh, I felt it too, but I didn't want to say anything because you told me to stop with my ghost feelings, and I was like, ugh, like I hope it doesn't lead to anything else. So that night, when I'm sleeping. I had a feeling that something was in that cold spot, like this energy was coming from that cold spot. I absolutely did not want to turn or look at whatever was over there, because I just knew something was there. So I did what Jasmine has taught me, and I put the blanket over my head and I'm like, if I can't see you, you're not there. I ended up being woken up because I felt something grabbed my leg and I immediately knew, like, this is not something that I even want to investigate at all. I literally tried to ignore it. I was freaking out under the blanket and I'm like, oh my gosh, Oh my gosh. I just pulled my legs closer to me, and I tried not to wake Jasmin up because if I would have woken her up, we would have both been scared and then like we would have just been freaking out. I would have probably knocked on my doors, my cousin's door, and said, like, you need to come over here, we need to go find another room. I don't know. So I'm like trying to be brave and not make her aware of it until at least morning time, so that we're not freaking out in the middle of the night, so I went back to sleep, and the next morning I told Jasmine, I'm like, hey, I had this really weird thing happen. Kept feeling like that energy was in that cold spot, and then something grabbed my leg and I went to go show her, like it was this leg and when we looked at my leg, there were legit fingerprints, Like there were bruised fingerprint marks on my leg in the same spot where I felt whatever grabbed me. My mom is also really sensitive. She's had many experiences. I feel like I have it where I've been super prone to like things just happening and me being able to see them. I don't know if it's necessarily something that you passed down from generation to generation or not, but it really feels that way for me. And now that I've met Jasmine. Me and Erica have so many ties together that we still don't understand. Like we met on Tinder, and during that time, it was something that we only had for a days, and like in that split that small time we met, and then now we're kind of sharing the same experiences of like when we were younger, and now the man in the apartment and the shadow and everything like that has been the reason that I feel more afraid to go and try to figure out what's going on, because I that was really traumatizing. But I would like to know like what the little boy wanted and the woman or our friend or just to be able to understand. But I don't know where to start. I guess without letting in like an evil spirit. I think the dream stuff for me is like I'm a huge believer in parallel universes or like alternate dimensions, and I think that sometimes like our dreams are maybe windows into these alternate dimensions and you get to kind of see a glimpse of that life. I feel like they stay dormant until you stop fighting that urge and you let them in and you open that doorway and you like acknowledge them. And then it's like, oh, like she's acknowledging me, so let me start acting out again. Like I mean, sometimes we feel it where it's just like a shadow in the corner. Or one day we were coming from the basement and I felt a presence on the couch and I came up here and I'm like, there's somebody sitting on the couch, and she was like Oh, I felt that too, but we just kind of let it go where it's like, if you acknowledge it, it's gonna make itself known, and if you just kind of ignore it, like it'll go away. But now that we're acknowledging them again like that they might come back. Jasmine and Erica, thank you so much for sharing your stories with us. Like you mentioned in our conversation, there's a certain comfort that we get when we had confirmation of what we experienced, even if it's really unexplainable and paranormal. And for our listeners out there, what do you think the dreams meant? Up until this point, I had no idea that it could be possible, although I do have a story of my own, Like there was a story in a Scary Story podcast that I based off of this dream journal that I was keeping, or I was documenting my dreams, but I stopped because I started finding connections between them. So there's something there that I feel really creeped out about. But let me know what you think in the comments or send me a DM or email. The details and everything are in the description. Also, it's hit some of the comments I guess from last episode. This one's from Dark Reflections. A comment from DC says, this episode's story is pretty good, but Edwin, this podcast host is a much better narrator than the person narrated this episode. Edwin, You're one of the best storytellers on all Spotify. Thanks a lot to see. I'm not sure about that, but I appreciate it. Thank you. The show itself is based on the actual callers, like as in what would be called like regular people telling regular everyday stories. So some of these may not be like the best quality. They're not professional narrators or not. They don't have high end microphones or little sound booth or anything. Let me see this message from or this comment on Spotify from CAMBERN. Newman says, wake up. It's the third of the month, December twenty twenty five. All right, well I'm awake. Thanks ill Off for that. Calen Chico says, love the show. However, exactly why I have no mirrors in my house other than the bathroom. See, this is what we were talking about. A mirror that was in a house when they arrived and it turned out to have some type of energy or some type of haunting with it. So I actually have no thoughts about mirrors, but I do have a really large closet mirror like those doors that are mirrors, so I guess the whole room is really reflected on there. So pretty eerie. I'm gonna have to rethink that. And then some of the reviews here on Apple Podcasts. One of them says from boll Lily eighty two says, I've been listening to this podcast for a while and I love it. While I love it, I love all things scary, I love all things per normal, and you do a great job. I thank you so much for that. And then and for the five stars, thank you, thank you. From craft Freaks has great selection of true scary experiences. This podcast always has a great selection of true scary stories told by the people who experience them. It's my top five true scary story podcast. I would give five stars, but oftentimes a storyteller is difficult to understand due to the sound quality of the recording. It sounds very muffled, and oftentimes I have to turn the volume up higher than I would normally, or we play a few times in order to understand what they are saying. Completely completely fair, we can fix a lot of this stuff, actually, so I'm glad that. I'm sure there's more comments just like this because it's a common It's a thing that we once we listen to the final episode, we're like, oh, yeah, we should probably fix this thing, and we don't. But you know, because I wanted to be like, oh, Rob, but you know what, it's true, totally fair. I'm going to see how we can improve also some of the stuff with some of the new tools that we have available, and that way we can get clear audio all leveled out so we don't have to like lower the volume, raise the volume and stuff like that, cause that's that could get really really annoying. So thanks for that, craft freak. That's all we have. There's some more on here. If you're subscribed, I'll bring up another story next week. To send in your story, go to truthscarystory dot com.
