[00:01:05] What starts as harmless night terrors spirals into eerie lullabies and chilling encounters.

[00:01:12] My name is Edwin and here is Ebony's true scary story.

[00:01:16] My story takes place starting in 2013.

[00:01:28] We've been in this apartment for less than a year.

[00:01:34] My son was five years old. He's 16 now.

[00:01:40] It always seemed like he would have night terrors.

[00:01:44] He would start crying in his sleep.

[00:01:49] Making weird noises.

[00:01:52] We would just hear him whimpering.

[00:01:55] We really didn't know what was going on.

[00:02:05] It started getting a little bit more intense.

[00:02:09] He started screaming and yelling.

[00:02:14] This would always happen between 11.30 and 12 o'clock when I would be getting ready to go to bed.

[00:02:23] We would go in the room.

[00:02:25] His body would be straight.

[00:02:28] It looked like somebody pulled his legs.

[00:02:32] His feet would go flat and his hands would be to his side.

[00:02:38] But he was still sleeping and he would be screaming.

[00:02:42] The screaming would last for about five minutes.

[00:02:47] And we lived in an apartment building complex.

[00:02:50] So I always thought that people would think that we were doing something to my son.

[00:02:58] And he was screaming.

[00:03:02] After that, he would always yawn.

[00:03:05] And turn right back around and sleep peacefully for the rest of the night.

[00:03:14] We were dealing with this for about two months.

[00:03:17] His doctor told me that it was probably him getting into his REM sleep stage.

[00:03:24] And that we should let him rest and not look at TV or anything for at least 30 to 45 minutes before bed.

[00:03:33] So that he could settle down.

[00:03:37] Then it just never stopped.

[00:03:43] One night I was walking past his room.

[00:03:47] It was completely dark in there.

[00:03:49] He had a little nightlight that was behind his dresser.

[00:03:52] So it kind of illuminated the walls.

[00:03:55] It wasn't enough to be super bright.

[00:03:59] When I was walking towards the room because I heard him whining, I saw some figure standing over by his bed.

[00:04:12] In a panic, I turned on the light.

[00:04:16] But it was nothing there.

[00:04:19] I definitely saw a figure standing next to his bed while he was starting the whining stage.

[00:04:31] Time has gone by now.

[00:04:34] I'm in my room.

[00:04:36] And I hear, like, lullaby music.

[00:04:41] Like I said, I lived in an apartment complex.

[00:04:43] So I thought maybe it was coming from the other apartment.

[00:04:48] I turned the TV down.

[00:04:52] And when I was starting to walk towards his room, I saw a dark figure move from the side of his bed over to the dressing.

[00:05:03] The lullaby music stopped.

[00:05:07] Now, I knew that I wasn't seeing things this time.

[00:05:10] So I just went in there.

[00:05:12] I snatched him out of his room.

[00:05:15] And I went back in my room and we waited for my husband to come home because it was just me and my son in the house.

[00:05:24] We were in the living room one day watching TV.

[00:05:32] I heard the toilet seat slam down.

[00:05:38] No one else was in the house.

[00:05:40] We were all in the front.

[00:05:43] I went back over to the bathroom and said, oh, maybe the toilet seat just fell.

[00:05:49] When I went back there, the toilet seat was actually still up.

[00:05:54] It never fell down.

[00:05:57] But you can hear the noise that it slammed shut.

[00:06:04] So now I just started being freaked out in my house.

[00:06:07] I didn't want to say anything to my family.

[00:06:10] The only person that knew about it was my husband at the time.

[00:06:14] And then we had a cat.

[00:06:15] So I kind of kept saying, oh, maybe the cat went by and I saw the shadow of the cat or that maybe he was in the bathroom and he hit the toilet seat.

[00:06:28] So I kept trying to make sense of him myself.

[00:06:34] It wasn't until one evening everybody was in their rooms.

[00:06:39] I went to go take a bath.

[00:06:43] I was in the bathtub.

[00:06:45] I decided to lay back, relax.

[00:06:49] I put my cloth over my face and I was just laying there.

[00:06:58] And it sounded as though someone opened the bathroom door.

[00:07:05] I took it off thinking it was my husband or my son coming.

[00:07:10] But there was no one there.

[00:07:12] I closed my eyes and just laid back.

[00:07:20] Out of nowhere, it felt like someone smacked me in my face.

[00:07:26] I felt a handprint.

[00:07:30] It felt like a burning sensation.

[00:07:34] I jumped up out of the bathroom, ran out of there, went to go to my husband and was like, okay, that's it.

[00:07:43] At that time, my son started screaming and had another night terror.

[00:07:48] While I'm panicking, trying to talk to my husband, he starts screaming.

[00:08:27] And we had to rush into his room.

[00:08:27] And we had to wake him up to make sure he was okay.

[00:08:31] He's just looking at us like, why are you waking me up?

[00:08:35] What's going on?

[00:08:37] They left.

[00:08:38] They cleared him.

[00:08:39] Everything was fine.

[00:08:40] It was a few days later after that, I decided to ask my son, do you remember any of these dreams that you're having at night while you're screaming or anything?

[00:09:00] And he said no.

[00:09:03] He doesn't remember any nightmares or he wasn't scared when he went to sleep or he didn't think of anything scary.

[00:09:14] I would never forget those words that came out of my five-year-old's mouth.

[00:09:21] He just came out and said, oh, I talked to the man on the moon.

[00:09:26] I talked to him sometimes when I go to bed.

[00:09:32] I asked him, who is the man on the moon?

[00:09:34] And he said, he tells me to do bad things, but I don't want to.

[00:09:39] And I'm always yelling at him to leave me alone.

[00:09:44] Sometimes when he gets mad, he sets everything on fire and he scratches me with a fork on my thumb.

[00:09:55] I asked him, what does the man on the moon look like?

[00:09:58] What is he doing?

[00:09:59] And he said, oh, he's very big.

[00:10:02] He's very red.

[00:10:03] He has a big fork.

[00:10:05] And he kept saying, he scratches my thumb with it when I tell him no.

[00:10:11] I said, well, does he ever grab you or catch you or anything?

[00:10:17] And he said, no.

[00:10:18] If I say no, he just stabbed me with the fork.

[00:10:37] The next day I told my mom, I started telling her everything that was going on.

[00:10:41] And my mom always believed in the Bible and she believes that there are spirits and that there are angels and demons walking around.

[00:10:52] So that's why I was happy that I was able to talk to her.

[00:10:56] And I told her, we went to church that Sunday and we talked to my priest and I explained to him night terrors.

[00:11:06] I told the doctor, they kept saying that children have active imaginations.

[00:11:12] But I just felt that it was something else going on because of all the other things that was happening around.

[00:11:20] The priest, he said that my son had a bright aura around him.

[00:11:25] Like he's very protected.

[00:11:28] And maybe that's why the dreams come and is trying to break that aura, but it can't get through.

[00:11:38] So he gave us holy water.

[00:11:40] He gave us Bible verses that we should recite before he goes to bed when he's saying his prayers.

[00:11:45] He told us to leave the Bible open on a certain page so we can have that verse after we say it.

[00:11:54] I was supposed to cross him with holy water.

[00:11:57] And then we will put a rosary that he gave us under his pillow.

[00:12:02] Now my son is still five.

[00:12:04] So he is really excited about putting the rosary under his pillow.

[00:12:08] He wants to go to bed and say prayers.

[00:12:11] The next day, I came into his room and the pages were turned on the Bible.

[00:12:19] I asked my husband, did you touch the Bible?

[00:12:25] Did you change it?

[00:12:26] He said no.

[00:12:29] Then while I was making up his bed, I went to go look for his rosary.

[00:12:33] I couldn't find the rosary.

[00:12:35] I asked him, did he take the rosary out at night?

[00:12:40] Did he wake up?

[00:12:41] Was he scared or anything?

[00:12:44] He said no.

[00:12:45] I was looking all the way all over the floor.

[00:12:49] And then I found the rosary under his bed behind the headboard.

[00:12:56] Not where he couldn't push it because he had a toddler bed.

[00:13:00] So there was no gaps where it would just fall through.

[00:13:03] Someone had to physically take that rosary and put it under the bed for it to be there.

[00:13:10] I started panicking about that.

[00:13:13] I told my mom what was going on again.

[00:13:16] She said, well, you know, just continue to keep doing it.

[00:13:20] Every night we would read the Bible verse.

[00:13:24] We would do the holy water.

[00:13:28] A month after that, the night terrors completely stopped.

[00:13:32] I ended up having another baby.

[00:13:39] We decided it was time to move.

[00:13:42] I started freaking out because the place that we were moving to was kind of behind the cemetery.

[00:13:49] There's a house in between us and the cemetery.

[00:13:54] All of those memories started coming back.

[00:13:58] We ended up moving on December of 2015.

[00:14:04] My second son was born January 11th.

[00:14:09] We were in our new apartment.

[00:14:14] I started having these strange noises in my house.

[00:14:21] One night I'm in my room and I heard the same lullaby song that I heard many years ago.

[00:14:32] And I turned down the TV and I thought I must be losing my mind.

[00:14:36] I'm paranoid.

[00:14:40] I went towards the room again.

[00:14:45] I saw a black figure start from his crib and the noise stopped.

[00:14:54] I'm thinking now, the cemetery behind me, the past, everything is coming back into play.

[00:15:03] I started telling my husband I need to go back to the priest.

[00:15:07] I need to tell him what's going on.

[00:15:10] Maybe a week after that, I'm laying in my room and I could not get to sleep because it felt like someone was staring at me from my hallway.

[00:15:21] I was turning around and I opened my eyes.

[00:15:30] And next to my dresser, I saw that black figure that I've seen multiple times.

[00:15:38] This time it did not vanish.

[00:15:42] I was staring at it while I was trying to move and tap my husband and let him know that something's there.

[00:15:52] It flew toward me.

[00:15:56] The only thing that I could do at that moment was flip over my husband because it lunged toward me so fast.

[00:16:05] I didn't know what else to do.

[00:16:07] I ended up flipping over my husband and fell off on the other side of the bed.

[00:16:14] When he woke up and was asking me what was wrong, I explained to him what was going on.

[00:16:20] That black figure that I keep seeing randomly, it's back and is trying to attack me.

[00:16:25] I was terrified.

[00:16:27] I said I was going to go back to the priest, let him know that this is happening all over again.

[00:16:34] We did the same thing.

[00:16:36] I had to take the baby to him.

[00:16:39] They got him baptized.

[00:16:42] And after that, that was it.

[00:16:44] Nothing else again.

[00:16:45] So I don't know if that black figure was trying to soothe the children or if it was something else.

[00:16:59] But I know it was the same figure that I saw when my first son was five.

[00:17:05] And then again when my second son was born.

[00:17:09] And that's what lunged toward me.

[00:17:11] So I'm not sure if she was angry with me or someone who just wanted to be my children.

[00:17:20] But I would feel this presence in my home as if someone was always watching me.

[00:17:28] But I never saw the figure again after we went back and blessed the house, God holy worded for here.

[00:17:37] Luckily, things have been much better.

[00:17:40] I did have another baby since.

[00:17:43] And those things have always crossed my mind.

[00:17:46] So my new baby is two.

[00:17:48] But I've yet to see the black figure or hear any weird lullaby songs or feel as though someone's watching me.

[00:17:58] It was only with my two sons.

[00:18:01] I don't know if it's different because now I have a daughter.

[00:18:06] But whenever I think about what happened to my older son who's now 16, it just gives me the chills.

[00:18:15] And I will never forget what he told me when he was five years old.

[00:18:21] I talked to the man on the moon.
