[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to True Scary Story.

[00:00:03] [SPEAKER_01]: From a young age, Melissa experienced several chilling events and encounters, from haunted dolls to the hat man.

[00:00:12] [SPEAKER_01]: My name is Edwin, and here is Melissa's true scary story.

[00:00:24] [SPEAKER_02]: My name is Melissa. I live in a small town near Victorville, California.

[00:00:29] [SPEAKER_02]: My whole life, ever since I was eight years old, I experienced my first paranormal story as a growing older.

[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I still had a lot of things happen to me.

[00:00:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Seen things, heard things, felt different things.

[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Everybody in my family said I'd have that sixth sense, that I just attract spirits.

[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_02]: My grandma's house is in Juarez, Mexico.

[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_02]: My dad grew up in that house. It's still in the family to this day.

[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_02]: When I was eight years old, we were staying in the guest room.

[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_02]: My mom, my dad, my siblings, my aunt and uncle, we were all staying in that spare room.

[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_02]: That night, I could not go to sleep.

[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_02]: I felt really anxious and scared. I didn't know why.

[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_02]: And I remember putting a blanket over my head, but it was really hot.

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I felt like I had to do that. That's the first time I've ever felt that sensation or felt that way.

[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I was laying down facing the curtain that they use as a door.

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_02]: As soon as I took the blanket off over my head, there was a man standing there against the doorway.

[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_02]: The tall, slender figure wearing a hat, the trench coat, but it was just a shadow.

[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't see a face, just the shadow of a man standing there.

[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I froze and then started crying.

[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Everybody woke up. I told my mom I saw somebody standing there by the doorway.

[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course, when everybody looked, it was gone. Nobody was there.

[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't see anything the next day, but I don't even think I slept the next night.

[00:02:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I just wanted to leave.

[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I have an aunt who had seen that same man in that same room.

[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_02]: When she saw him, she said that he was kneeling as if he was praying.

[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_02]: We're the only two that have ever seen him.

[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_02]: My grandma always said she always knew there was someone in that house, but it never bothered her.

[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_02]: She never felt scared or threatened by it.

[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_02]: My uncle who lives in that house with my grandma, he would see things.

[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_02]: He would feel like somebody was watching him.

[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_02]: So a lot of people didn't like going to my grandma's house for that same reason.

[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_02]: My dad did tell me when he had slept in that same room, he was falling asleep.

[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_02]: He looked up on the ceiling. He saw a huge butterfly on the ceiling.

[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_02]: My grandma always loved butterflies.

[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_02]: We don't know who that could be or if it's a family member.

[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_02]: My grandma thinks it might be maybe an uncle of hers.

[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_02]: All I know about the house is that my dad grew up in it.

[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_02]: There was one previous owner.

[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_02]: There was a woman who got burned in that house.

[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_02]: But the person I saw was a man. We still don't know who he is.

[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I know there's been a lot of experiences in that house.

[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_02]: My grandma passed away a few years ago. I went back after COVID and everything.

[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_02]: It just feels different. It doesn't feel like whatever was there is there anymore.

[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Growing up, I've had a lot of little different instances and stories.

[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_02]: When we first moved to the high desert actually, the first house we bought, a lot of things that would happen in that house.

[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_02]: When we first moved in, my dad found a doll.

[00:04:19] [SPEAKER_02]: It was made out of cloth that was shoved inside a mason jar.

[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_02]: It was closed.

[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_02]: He took it out. He was in the pantry.

[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_02]: He opened it. He thinks it was an innocent person that they had trapped in there and in his way he was setting that person free.

[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_02]: He opened it up. I wouldn't say that's what caused all the things that would happen in that house.

[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_02]: When I was younger, I would feel like somebody was watching me.

[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I had to be in elementary school, maybe fourth or fifth grade.

[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_02]: When I was walking into that pantry actually to grab something, I had my back facing the living room towards the hallway where all the bedrooms were at.

[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I just remember feeling this really cold sensation as if something walks through you.

[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_02]: My whole body just went cold. I froze.

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_02]: After I got out of that shock, I ran to where my mom and her friend were at and I started crying.

[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_02]: From then, I would always hear people talking or things or whispers.

[00:05:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I would hear my mom calling me, my mom's voice, and I would answer.

[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Nobody was there. Nobody. It wasn't my mom.

[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_02]: My mom used to have a lot of porcelain dolls as well.

[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_02]: There was a ledge at the very top of the living room and she had all these porcelain dolls there.

[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I remember vividly laying down on the couch looking up at this one doll she had in particular.

[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_02]: She had curly blonde hair, blue and white dress.

[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I remember looking at the doll. I was just staring at it.

[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I remember the doll moving its head side to side looking at me.

[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_02]: We lived in that house up until I was like in middle school.

[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_02]: That's when we moved to a different house in the same city.

[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Just about in every house I've ever moved to, I've always experienced or seen something.

[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Seeing something, hearing something.

[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I started to believe what if it is me? What if I am the one that everywhere I go, I just bring something with me?

[00:06:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I had a friend, a really good friend of mine.

[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_02]: I had gone over to her house.

[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_02]: When I walked into her room I felt this really heavy uncomfortable feeling.

[00:07:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I've gone to her house plenty of times and have never felt like that.

[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_02]: But I walked in and I just wanted to get out of there. I just don't know why.

[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And we last came back when I had gone back into her room.

[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_02]: She was telling me that some of the things that she had in her room, I noticed new things.

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_02]: She had these monkeys that hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil.

[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_02]: That belonged to her friend who passed away.

[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_02]: When she told me that I felt this overwhelming sensation and I think that's what it was because

[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_02]: she had some personal belongings of her friends that I just felt overwhelming energy of sadness.

[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I just started crying telling her all these things I felt

[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_02]: as if her friend had somehow channeled herself through me, I don't know, maybe a medium type of situation.

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_02]: It was very emotionally draining too.

[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_02]: It does take a lot out of you. I didn't realize that. I've never had that happen.

[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_02]: The last big experience I really had I would say was back in 2019.

[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if I was just going through a rough place in my life.

[00:08:18] [SPEAKER_02]: My mom has always said whenever you just feel very vulnerable emotionally or mentally,

[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_02]: that's when things try to attach themselves to you.

[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_02]: There was my desk I had bought at Goodwill.

[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Everybody knows me to be notorious in buying things from antique stores, thrift stores, yard sells.

[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Everybody always says, well, you always buy all these things and you never know what could be attached to it.

[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_02]: This desk that I bought, I still have it to this day.

[00:08:48] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not in my room, but I still have it to this day.

[00:08:54] [SPEAKER_02]: My bed is facing the wall.

[00:08:56] [SPEAKER_02]: The desk is on the right hand side of my wall.

[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Everything's facing my door.

[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I was having a lot of nightmares at that point.

[00:09:05] [SPEAKER_02]: I've never been one to have sleep paralysis.

[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_02]: But during that point of my life, I was having a lot of sleep paralysis.

[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Every night I was having really vivid, horrible nightmares.

[00:09:17] [SPEAKER_02]: It was just odd.

[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_02]: There was not a night that I could not go to sleep without having a nightmare or sleep paralysis.

[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I could never actually rest.

[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I would not turn off my light.

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I would leave sleep with my light on.

[00:09:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Every time I fell asleep, it was almost this kind of sensation of, well, I know it's not going to be good sleep because this is going to happen.

[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Because it was just something that was just happening every night.

[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I have a cousin.

[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_02]: My cousin, she lives in Mexico.

[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_02]: She had came with her sister.

[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_02]: We were just staying a couple of days with us.

[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I never told her about what I was going through.

[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I never told her anything about my room.

[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_02]: The next day, my cousin, she had heard somebody trying to open the door.

[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_02]: She woke up scared because she heard the door moving, but nobody was coming in.

[00:10:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Her sister, she had a, you could say, six-stent.

[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_02]: She can pick up on things if she knows things.

[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_02]: She told me, there's something in your room.

[00:10:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I could feel it when I spent the night here.

[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_02]: She had asked me, she's like, have you been having a lot of nightmares or have you just been feeling scared in your room?

[00:10:34] [SPEAKER_02]: She confirmed my suspicion that there was something attached to a piece of furniture.

[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_02]: When she told me that, I just was thinking, it has to be something that I bought in that I didn't have before.

[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_02]: After she had told me that, she confirmed my suspicion.

[00:10:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I'm not going crazy.

[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_02]: These things are happening for a reason.

[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_02]: There was one night I was laying in my bed and I thought I was awake.

[00:11:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I remember looking over to the right, to my right-hand side of my bed where my desk is at.

[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Then I see a woman standing there by my desk.

[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_02]: This lady, I didn't know who it was or who she was.

[00:11:16] [SPEAKER_02]: She was looking at me with her black shoulder-length hair, wet, white lace wedding dress.

[00:11:23] [SPEAKER_02]: She was wearing a mask though, a tiger mask.

[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_02]: When she noticed that, I realized that I was actually not awake.

[00:11:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Then that's when she tilted her head.

[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_02]: That's what really made me realize she sees me.

[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_02]: She knows I'm aware and that I'm seeing her.

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_02]: After that, I just woke up.

[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_02]: She is someone that was attached to that desk.

[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know who she is, but the weirdest thing is that after I actually saw her that night,

[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I stopped experiencing any sort of nightmares or sleep paralysis.

[00:12:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I still have that desk to this day.

[00:12:08] [SPEAKER_02]: After that night that I had seen her, I didn't experience anything else again.

[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_02]: At least nothing major like that.

[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I just never seen her again.

[00:12:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm just curious still, I think about it to this day.

[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Why is it that when I saw her, she's wearing a wedding dress or that she was wearing a mask,

[00:12:29] [SPEAKER_02]: a tiger's mask, which is weird.

[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I just to this day wonder why maybe she didn't want to be seen.

[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it's just more of a curiosity that I have to this day.

[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I've had little things happen here and there in the house I'm currently living in,

[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_02]: where I hear people talking or things moving.

[00:12:48] [SPEAKER_02]: You just hear noises in the house.

[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not consistent every time, but I will hear things here and there.

[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it was last year.

[00:13:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I had seen him at my house actually where I'm living now, in my sister's room.

[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_02]: My sister also says that she's seen him.

[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I know I've looked it up, they say it's the hat man.

[00:13:12] [SPEAKER_02]: So they say, I don't know if it's something a lot of people have seen.

[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Some people have different names.

[00:13:19] [SPEAKER_02]: They say they've seen this man, tall, slender man.

[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I had seen him about a year ago when I had spent the night in my sister's room.

[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_02]: We were sharing the same bed and I had seen him by the doorway again,

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_02]: which is funny because that's where I saw him the first time when I was younger.

[00:13:40] [SPEAKER_02]: That's really the only other time I've ever seen him besides when I was little.

[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_02]: That same night was the same thing.

[00:13:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I was laying there and I couldn't go to sleep.

[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I just had this sense to look over by the doorway.

[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I had seen him there again just standing there,

[00:13:56] [SPEAKER_02]: but this time he was actually in front of the door.

[00:13:58] [SPEAKER_02]: He wasn't against the wall.

[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_02]: He was actually in front of the door, but the weird thing is I didn't feel scared.

[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_02]: I just acknowledged that he was there.

[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I had told my sister about it and she's like, yeah, I've seen him a lot.

[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_02]: He comes and goes.

[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll just show up here and then I won't see him.

[00:14:19] [SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know if this particular person that we've seen

[00:14:23] [SPEAKER_02]: is something that is just maybe part of our family or maybe I've seen him before.

[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I just don't recollect because when you're younger, growing up,

[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_02]: there's a lot of things you don't remember.

[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_02]: But I just think sometimes you just have that sixth sense

[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_02]: where you can see, feel and hear things that other people can't.

[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't really think there's anything that surprises me.

[00:14:48] [SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of skeptics or people that don't really believe in anything like that.

[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_02]: But even then it's one of those things that when you experience it, it's very real.
